[00:00:00] Speaker A: Or good. You can talk. [00:00:01] Speaker B: Thanks. [00:00:01] Speaker C: And you're allowed to talk. [00:00:02] Speaker A: I should never have told you that you can't talk. [00:00:05] Speaker B: I know. It makes me want to talk. [00:00:07] Speaker D: Did you guys do anything fun for Halloween? [00:00:09] Speaker B: We hid from trick or treaters and let our kids handle it. We have two grown children. [00:00:15] Speaker A: I love the trick or treating scene. So for me, it was different than normal. But we went out to dinner and. [00:00:22] Speaker B: Found friends on the way. [00:00:22] Speaker A: There were some friends sitting at a table by themselves. So we just joined them and had a good friends. [00:00:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:27] Speaker D: Oh, cool. [00:00:29] Speaker C: I know. I love trick or treaters, too. I get so excited. And we only get like, Jody's in East Lansing. I'm out in Williamston, which is a little more rural. So we only got 12 trick or treaters. But I love them. [00:00:53] Speaker A: See, I like that because they call her the business. But this time we don't have a her. We have a hers. We have Jojo and Lo. Yo. [00:01:01] Speaker C: How are you? [00:01:03] Speaker A: Quite well. How are you both doing? [00:01:05] Speaker C: We're doing great. We just played pickleball, so. [00:01:10] Speaker A: That'S. [00:01:11] Speaker C: It's. It's. So it's all indoor these days. [00:01:16] Speaker D: On pickleball party tonight, we're all going in costume. [00:01:19] Speaker A: Okay. I was going to say, this can't be the only time you've done pickleball something today. So where did you play this morning? [00:01:25] Speaker C: We play at the Michigan Athletic Club, which is in East Lansing. And gosh, they have how many courts now in. [00:01:33] Speaker D: 18. [00:01:33] Speaker C: 18. And we're all full today, so. Yeah, it's actually pretty cool. It's where Simone Jardim and Catherine Parento got their start at our club. That was when Simone was the tennis coach at msu. [00:01:50] Speaker A: Yeah, she was back then. [00:01:52] Speaker C: Corinne Carr is from there. Joey Farius, D.J. howard. So it's kind of a hot bed of pickleball here in East Lansing. Yeah. [00:02:03] Speaker A: And not. I mean, not close, but not horribly far. The Reminisce sisters were also up in Michigan when they got their start, so. [00:02:10] Speaker C: Right. [00:02:10] Speaker A: Both. And why am I drawing a blank? I don't know. [00:02:15] Speaker B: This is your thing. [00:02:18] Speaker A: Because it's not reminds me anymore. It's Andrea Coop, that's why. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:02:23] Speaker C: Well, you guys saw her at the Beer City Open, I assume. [00:02:26] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. She's great. That's where you guys met, right? Sky, you saw the Jojo and Low booth and you were just like a freaking moth to a flame. [00:02:35] Speaker B: I was. He was. He's like, okay, we have a plan. We're gonna go in, we're gonna go get seats at the main course. We can, like, watch all day and have fun. He was. He knows Zane, so he was really wanting to get a spot where he could watch Zane. And I was like, right for your booth. I mean, like, it was beautiful, colorful, quality. I was just like, I was in. And so he was like, okay, we're not here to shop. I'm like, I am. And so I'm like, you go. I'll find you. Got my first jojo and low shirt. Worn it many times. Get a ton of compliments. This is my new one from you, so thank you so much for sending that to me. [00:03:20] Speaker C: And so your first shirt was xoxo, is that right? [00:03:24] Speaker B: Yes, xoxo long sleeve pink. Just. It's perfect. And I'm gonna take it on our trip. We're going to go to the PPA nationals here next week. [00:03:37] Speaker A: Yeah, next week. [00:03:37] Speaker D: Oh, we were there last year. [00:03:39] Speaker C: Yes, we were. [00:03:40] Speaker D: It was fun. [00:03:41] Speaker A: Did you just go or did you have a booth or. [00:03:44] Speaker C: We had our shop in the pickleball central tent, and it was great. I mean, we had a ton of traffic, ton of sales, and the venue was a little challenging. I think everybody kind of thought that the layout. [00:03:58] Speaker A: I forgot to tell my wife. Bring your own toilet paper. Oh, that was the big joke from last year's nationals. [00:04:04] Speaker D: Totally. And it was muddy. It was muddy by the porta potty. [00:04:07] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:04:10] Speaker C: But we had a really good time. It was fun. [00:04:12] Speaker D: It was very cool. [00:04:13] Speaker A: I'm sure. [00:04:14] Speaker D: The golden bachelor. [00:04:15] Speaker C: Yes, we did. [00:04:16] Speaker A: That's right. I forgot. [00:04:18] Speaker C: Gary the golden Bachelor. I. [00:04:20] Speaker A: Are you, either of you single? [00:04:23] Speaker C: No. [00:04:24] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:29] Speaker C: Gary the bachelor turned it up. He was a little flirtatious. [00:04:32] Speaker A: I saw some pictures and looks like he had a good. [00:04:36] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:04:37] Speaker A: Played too, if I'm not mistaken, right? [00:04:39] Speaker C: He did. He did. And so it was funny. [00:04:42] Speaker D: I know. He was playing. [00:04:43] Speaker C: He was doing an exhibition event. He was playing some friends, I guess it was. But we tried to give him a dinker. We have a dinker cap and a banger cap. And people usually identify as either or sometimes both or lobber. [00:04:58] Speaker D: We have a lobber shirt, too. [00:04:59] Speaker C: Yes. But I shouted out to him. I said, hey, Gary, are you a dinker or a banger? And he said, I'm a dinker. And so I threw him a cap, and he had handlers like. Like stopping him from the cap. And so he never. We don't think he ever got that cap. Oh, my gosh. [00:05:18] Speaker A: That's weird. [00:05:18] Speaker C: Yeah. But he was nice. [00:05:21] Speaker A: Now that's cool. Why don't you Tell us, like, give us a quick history of your background. How did you two meet? Or how did you turn your. Your names? Because your names are. I'm going to. I'm going to guess, like, it's Jody and Laura. [00:05:35] Speaker C: Lori. [00:05:36] Speaker A: Lori. Jody and Lori. But you became JoJo and Low. That's the name of the company. [00:05:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:05:40] Speaker A: Like, have you known each other forever? Is this a newer thing? [00:05:43] Speaker C: Well, we were tennis partners probably seven, eight years ago, and just Jody joined my tennis team, and we just hit it off, and somehow we ended up being partners and we did really, really well together and that we played on the same team for about two years, and Jody's still on the team, but I. I developed some knee issues and got stem cells, and I was told just, you know, no more skiing, no more running, no more tennis. So I'm able to play pickleball, you know, five, six days a week. So I'm just thrilled that I can do that. And so I had to get my favorite tennis partner into pickleball. Right. Of course I got her hooked. It took a long time. It really did. She was resistant. She was a die hard tennis player, but now she loves them both just as much. So. [00:06:34] Speaker A: We don't know any die hard tennis people, do we? Not at all. Yeah. You know, I did hear you say that you can't ski anymore, but the good news is you live in Michigan, and we all know there's no real skiing in Michigan, so. [00:06:46] Speaker B: Stop. [00:06:46] Speaker A: That's okay. Didn't miss out on anything. I. I lived in Colorado for a long time, so. We laugh at Michigan's little hills. [00:06:52] Speaker C: Oh, right. [00:06:52] Speaker B: I learned how to ski. [00:06:53] Speaker A: Kind of mean. [00:06:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:55] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:06:56] Speaker A: How did Jojo and Low start? [00:06:57] Speaker D: We were playing in a. Had plans to play in a PPA tournament in Arizona, and we wanted matching unis, and we couldn't find anything cute online. Like, there was a lot of dancing, pickles, fluorescent green. We're just like, no, we can't do it. Lori's like, you're a graphic designer. Let's make our own stuff. So it started that way. [00:07:17] Speaker C: Yeah. So we just made some stuff that we liked, and then we thought, let's. Let's show them to our friends. And then our friends were like, oh, we want those. And so it just kind of developed from a close group of friends, and we launched almost exactly three years ago. Yeah. [00:07:33] Speaker D: Our anniversary was on the 29th. [00:07:35] Speaker C: Yeah. So it's on. You know, we just keep getting new ideas for new designs, and Jodi can crank them out in a couple days, and Within a couple of days, we usually have a new shirt. So it's. It's fun because that's awesome. Not everybody can turn their ideas into an actual product, and we're able to do that pretty easily because of Jody's skills. So it works out great. [00:07:59] Speaker A: That is awesome. We'll send you all our cool ideas. I thought about starting a T shirt company literally seven years ago, and I came up with a bunch of ideas that I think probably by now are all being used, but I don't know. [00:08:08] Speaker B: I have a little running list in my. [00:08:10] Speaker A: I haven't seen Brawler Brawler deals yet, though, so we'll see if that can come out one of these days. [00:08:13] Speaker C: Yeah, send us your ideas that we get a lot of our ideas from our customers and friends. [00:08:18] Speaker B: Yeah, that was my next question. Is there a story behind any of the shirts or any of the designs? [00:08:24] Speaker C: Well, you are wearing a very special shirt right now. It's called thank God for Pickleball. And that came out of a kind of a sad story. Two Christmases ago, my sister died. It was just a real, really hard time for me. And I found that what got me out of bed in the morning, what got me setting the alarm clock was knowing that I was going to go play pickleball and being with my friends. And my friends were so supportive and my family as well. But about six months later, so I wrote a blog about it, and it's all about my sister and the loss. And I used to work in children's grief support. There's a grief center here in Lansing called Ellie's Place, and I worked there for 15 years. So it was really important for me to share my story. And so it was a pretty long blog, and it was. But it was a good blog. And about six months later, a couple of people approached me and they said, you know, your blog really touched my heart. And I've had loss, I've had divorce, I've had. You know, we got a few different responses of people grieving, and they said, you really should make that into a shirt. Because we would wear it, we would buy it, we would wear it, we know friends who would wear it. And everybody has a story, you know, like how pickleball has helped them through. Through a hard time. And so that's really what it's about. Just thank God for pickleball. Because some days, you know, it's the bright spot in our day. [00:09:51] Speaker A: It is the bright spot in my day, all days that I play. In fact, I was going to ask you earlier, I know you played this morning and you said you have a pickleball event tonight. [00:09:59] Speaker D: Yeah, it's a Halloween party. Costumes. I'm going as a mummy with my husband and I'm pumped. It's going to be fun. [00:10:07] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a. It's always a fun party. [00:10:09] Speaker D: I think we have almost all 18 quarts reserved. It's gonna be a big. [00:10:14] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:10:15] Speaker A: One of the ladies here has done some really good work and she's got a pickleball that's like a part of it shaved off and it sticks on her head and there's like blood coming out of it. It's fantastic. [00:10:24] Speaker D: We were trying to talk our friend into doing that, but she has big plans to be a zombie, so maybe next year. [00:10:30] Speaker A: Fun year for zombies and mummies. [00:10:32] Speaker B: I like the inflatable suit one so that you can hit them easier. [00:10:36] Speaker D: Oh, that's okay. See, the thing is, we have to play in costume, so. [00:10:40] Speaker C: Yeah, you have to have it somewhat. [00:10:42] Speaker A: I. I was gonna ask if you were playing again. So there you. There's my answer. Because 2A days is what makes sense to me. [00:10:48] Speaker D: My mommy wrap is going to end up all over the pickleball courts, and I'm gonna get big over there, ready and like crazy. [00:10:57] Speaker A: Oh, well, whatever. [00:11:00] Speaker B: We had someone with sparkles once, and it's still. [00:11:02] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, don't do sparkles. [00:11:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:04] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. You never get rid of sparkles. We have a lot of sparkles. [00:11:08] Speaker B: On your website, you have kind of give us a rundown of everything that you have. You have shirts, obviously. [00:11:14] Speaker A: Yes, you've told us about hats. What else do you have? [00:11:16] Speaker D: Visors, hoodies, beanies. We have some bag hooks, stickers. [00:11:23] Speaker C: Yeah, mostly. Mostly apparel apparel. Hats and visors and then some additional fun accessories. Yeah, we just came up with a new hat, actually. We have this little cute little embroidered pickle patch. It's just like a little gherkin. It looks like a Nike swoosh on. On the sweatshirt, but we're gonna put it on a hat. So. [00:11:43] Speaker D: On a trucker, I think. [00:11:44] Speaker C: On a trucker. Yeah. Yeah. [00:11:46] Speaker B: So for men and women. [00:11:48] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. [00:11:49] Speaker C: Most of our stuff, I mean. Well, I wouldn't say most of it, but a lot of our stuff is unisex or, you know. [00:11:56] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:11:56] Speaker C: Both men and women. [00:11:57] Speaker D: Our performance shirts have been really popular. They're the moisture wicking. And we did a lot of, like, really cool bright neon colors with just a really simple pickle on it. The word pickle spel out. Our stuff is pretty clean. A lot of it's Type driven. Like, banger, lobber, dinker. Like, a lot of us identify as one of those. So, like, our shirts are just kind of which. Are you a what? [00:12:21] Speaker A: I'm a banger. [00:12:22] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, me too. [00:12:23] Speaker A: If I can hit it as hard as I can, I will. I mean, that's my absolute objective every time I step on the court. [00:12:28] Speaker B: I love the net. So I'm a dinker. [00:12:31] Speaker C: Oh, good for you. [00:12:31] Speaker D: It's fun to get into a dinky match, though. [00:12:34] Speaker C: It is. [00:12:35] Speaker A: It is. I would wear a shirt that said, I'm a lobber, not a dinker. [00:12:38] Speaker C: Yeah, I. I am a lobber. But this one's a. She's a banger. And I've had plenty of bruises playing across the net from Jody. [00:12:49] Speaker D: Do you guys wear protective eyewear when you play? [00:12:52] Speaker A: Oh, funny story. [00:12:54] Speaker B: Well, we. We told the story in a previous podcast, but we. I was practicing with our slinger, our ball machine, and I. It caught my paddle edge and, like, right in my left eye. I was on the ground. Oh, my God. Black guy's gone. But, wow, this just happened. [00:13:11] Speaker C: What? [00:13:11] Speaker A: Yeah, maybe a month ago. [00:13:13] Speaker C: Okay, so you're wearing. [00:13:15] Speaker A: Drill session was over. It dropped her to her knees. She did not like that at all. [00:13:18] Speaker B: And I'm. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so it was. It was rough, and it was. It took about three hours for my full vision to return. [00:13:25] Speaker C: Wow. [00:13:26] Speaker B: Yeah, it was kind of crazy. So after that, I was like, okay, I need to wear my eye gear. [00:13:31] Speaker C: I know. I think that's what we're all waiting for, that one scary instance. And then I. I have the goggles in my bag. I just never get them out in. [00:13:40] Speaker D: The eye three times, and I still don't wear goggles. [00:13:42] Speaker C: Really? Yikes. [00:13:44] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't wear them either. I hated them. I hated them in racquetball. But there was a point in racquetball where I knew I needed to start wearing them because it was getting pretty violent in there. So it's probably getting that in pickleball. Yeah. Yeah, very much so. [00:13:59] Speaker C: And it's just the perfect. [00:14:01] Speaker B: Oh, I'm sorry, Jody. I feel like I saw you play at Beer City. Did you play as well? [00:14:06] Speaker C: We did, yeah. We both. It wasn't. I didn't have a very long run. You didn't you medal two years ago? [00:14:13] Speaker D: I medaled in Beer City Open last year. I think we went three or four rounds. [00:14:17] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a tough tourney. [00:14:20] Speaker B: I was impressed. It was hot. I was impressed. [00:14:22] Speaker C: Oh, it was so hot. And, you know, we're out there. [00:14:25] Speaker D: We baked in the sun for five days or six days. [00:14:29] Speaker C: And to play on top of that, it was a lot like, when we're done with a five day tournament or actually with six days this year, we're dead for a week. It's so it takes so much energy just to set up the shop and then you're selling and you're talking and, you know, we get a lot of energy from our customers, which is fun. But by the time that week is over, we're just like, okay, I'll see you. I'll see you next week, Jody, we're. [00:14:55] Speaker D: Taking a week off. [00:14:55] Speaker C: Yeah, we don't need to see you. [00:14:57] Speaker A: For a while, I'm sure. I went up last year for four days and I just watched and I was in the shade most of the time and it's still tired you out pretty fast, so. [00:15:05] Speaker B: Well, I was really impressed with you because you were playing and then you would come back to your booth and I was thinking the amount of mental gymnastics that takes to play and stay focused with your partner and then go back into business mode is tough. It's just really tough. And I don't think people who do not own a small business understand that type of, you know, dedication to your business. It takes. [00:15:34] Speaker C: Yeah, you know, you're absolutely right. And Jody will wear her Apple watch. So she gets a little cha Ching every time I'm back at the Stop selling. [00:15:43] Speaker A: Does that make her hit the next one harder? [00:15:45] Speaker D: But no, I'm like, I don't care about this loss. We just made a sale. [00:15:50] Speaker A: I heard three cha Chings in that score. [00:15:52] Speaker B: Big wholesale order just came. And that's the thing is people can order wholesale, so other facilities could contact you and set up that type of account. Right. [00:16:01] Speaker D: And we met like all of our wholesalers at tournaments. [00:16:05] Speaker B: Wow. [00:16:06] Speaker C: Yeah, a lot of them. Yeah, a lot of them. But yeah, like, we picked up two new wholesalers at the Beer City Open. One is Ascent Pickleball in Pennsylvan. They were just there watching. And so, yeah, that's. That's always great. It really helps to build the business when you, when you can spend time talking to, you know, people who are pickleball addicts, you know, they're, they're all in on pickleball, most of these people that go to tournaments. So, yeah, it's a good business move. [00:16:34] Speaker D: You guys have facilities popping up everywhere. [00:16:37] Speaker B: Everywhere. [00:16:37] Speaker A: Yeah, we're doing all we can to make it keep going, too. [00:16:40] Speaker B: So in the next. Here in central Indiana, specifically in a city named Fishers, I think. [00:16:47] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:16:47] Speaker B: In Noblesville, there's Chicken and pickles coming. The pickler is coming. In Noblesville, there's a place called 247 Dink Fishers. We in fish. Oh, is that Fishers? We interviewed him. He's on one of our previous episodes. Great guy. Really innovative facility. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Think top golf, but for pick. [00:17:08] Speaker C: Wow. [00:17:09] Speaker A: Yeah, so like you can see a screen that tells you hit the ball over here and that scores you and. [00:17:13] Speaker B: Or just play a normal game. Yeah, yeah. All kinds of stuff there is. What am I missing? [00:17:21] Speaker A: Well, we got the cage campus there. Fishers is going to become our new mecca for pickle ball. And that area. [00:17:27] Speaker B: Yep. [00:17:27] Speaker A: Here in Indiana, so that's cool. [00:17:29] Speaker C: Well, you're gonna love chicken and pickle. Have you been to one yet? [00:17:32] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:17:33] Speaker A: Oh, yes. So I. I don't know. You ladies don't look old enough. But there was a movie called Cannonball Run. Do you remember Cannonball Run? [00:17:40] Speaker B: I think I told you, you don't look old enough. [00:17:42] Speaker A: You lovely ladies look very young. So there you go. Burt Reynolds movie. [00:17:46] Speaker C: Yes. [00:17:47] Speaker A: And it was Cannonball Run. And so I did two years ago what I called the Chicken Ball run. And I went to every single chicken and pickle that was open two years ago in. In one week. [00:17:58] Speaker C: Are you kidding me? [00:18:00] Speaker A: No. I drove to every single one of them. I started in Kansas City, then Kansas City, then Wichita, then Oklahoma, dropped down to Texas. I did all of them in one week. [00:18:06] Speaker D: You should do it again because you can pick up one of our shirts in each location. [00:18:10] Speaker A: Oh, that would be awesome. Well, we have a good relationship with chicken and Pickles, so we love them. And I think that their marketing gal is going to help me promote an official chicken ball run we might see in the near future. Like a tour bus that goes from chicken and pickle to Chicken and Pickle. And people can pay to be part. [00:18:27] Speaker D: Of this big idea. Yes, let us know because we'll be on the bus with you. [00:18:33] Speaker A: Yeah, that sounds awesome. You heard it here first, folks. [00:18:37] Speaker C: Oh, seriously. We just got this great collaboration with Chicken and Pickle. Where we did it has this. Well, you describe it. [00:18:47] Speaker A: You. [00:18:47] Speaker D: You create their location specific T shirts. So it just has the chicken and pickle brand and on the back it has the shape of the state, the city, the year it was founded, and a lot of different, like, fun icons that are pickleball related. Yeah, they're really fun. [00:19:01] Speaker C: So there. There's a different shirt in every location. Now that's a JoJo and low shirts, so. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Well, now I have to go to everyone. [00:19:08] Speaker C: Well, we'll collect them. Just. [00:19:11] Speaker A: Yes, like the Starbucks mugs. [00:19:13] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. [00:19:13] Speaker D: You can't buy them online. You can only get them. [00:19:16] Speaker A: See, that's perfect. See that would be part of the chicken ball run you like. That would just be included in the cost. Is that they would get their piece in everywhere they went. [00:19:22] Speaker C: Oh, that's that. [00:19:23] Speaker D: That's so fun. [00:19:24] Speaker A: What we need to have is what will be. There'll be like 12 open next year. [00:19:28] Speaker B: By there should be 16. [00:19:29] Speaker A: 16 open by the end of next year. [00:19:31] Speaker B: I don't know if it's okay. [00:19:32] Speaker A: We need 16 unique items. Gloves, hats, earrings, socks. And that way they get one different thing at each location and when they walk out they're full on Jojo and low head to tail. [00:19:42] Speaker C: Oh my God. That would be Kelly, right? [00:19:47] Speaker A: Wouldn't that be fun? [00:19:48] Speaker B: You can blame Kevin. [00:19:49] Speaker A: You can blame me. I'm okay with that. Well, we will be at the San Antonio Chicken and Pickle next week and then the week after, two weeks later we'll be at Edmond. The Oklahoma City one I should say. [00:19:58] Speaker B: I have. So I have something going on with the Fisher's location. I'll be out there quite a bit. So once they open. [00:20:04] Speaker C: When is the opening of Fishers? [00:20:06] Speaker A: Not soon enough. [00:20:08] Speaker B: I believe it's spring of 25. [00:20:10] Speaker C: Yeah, we're going. [00:20:11] Speaker D: So are we about four hours from Fisher? [00:20:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh yeah. [00:20:13] Speaker C: It's not bad, right? [00:20:15] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, come on down. [00:20:16] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll take you. It's just northeast of Indy. [00:20:20] Speaker C: Yep. [00:20:21] Speaker A: All right. So I, I guess I tried to put some ideas in your head, but why don't you tell us what does the future hold for Jojo and Love? You got something new coming out that you're willing to give us a sneak peek at? They're looking at each other like, can. [00:20:33] Speaker C: We always have new stuff? [00:20:35] Speaker D: We just did a big breast cancer awareness promotion with Pickleball Bella, a real, really good friend of ours. [00:20:41] Speaker B: I didn't know if you wanted to share that story. Yeah, yeah. [00:20:43] Speaker C: Have you, have you met Nancy Tedeschi from Pickleball Bella know the name? The bright colored, really bright, artistic looking skirts that have pickleballs and peace signs. And you'd recognize her merchandise if you saw it, but she created this. We were next to her last year in Dallas at nationals. Our shop was right next to her and we just hit it off. We became fast friends and she told us that she had a breast cancer awareness skirt that she was creating and she showed us a picture of it and we Just thought it was so cute. And then I shared with her that I actually was a survivor of breast cancer about 10 years ago. [00:21:27] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:21:28] Speaker C: And that recent blog. But so she said, well, hey, why don't we team up on this? You know, it's a cause that matters to you. And so we did. We came up with how many different. We have a hoodie, a beanie, a trucker cap that matches her skirt and then three different shirts. And then we just added on a men's shirt because there were a couple of, you know, husbands that contacted us and said, look, I want to support my wife. She's got the shirt and I don't have one. I want to match her on the pickleball courts. And so we came up with the guy's shirt too. So it's a really cool. Everything's bright hot pink except for the hoodies white, which is really cute. And her skirt's so cute. It's on our homepage of our website if you want to check it out. JoJo a n d Low.com. [00:22:20] Speaker B: Website in our above. [00:22:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:24] Speaker C: Oh, thank you. [00:22:25] Speaker A: In the description for this podcast and any discount code you want to give us. [00:22:32] Speaker D: A movie. What funny is that gonna be? [00:22:35] Speaker C: Yeah. No Ben Stiller. So he's doing the dink. You've probably heard about it. [00:22:41] Speaker A: Yes. [00:22:42] Speaker C: And yes. She. Our friend got contacted to provide costumes for the. [00:22:49] Speaker B: For the. [00:22:49] Speaker D: She's the one with the skirts who we just met. [00:22:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:51] Speaker B: That's. [00:22:51] Speaker C: So she actually sent some. Our hoodie. Our. [00:22:54] Speaker D: Our couple things. [00:22:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:56] Speaker C: Faith. Hope you never know. [00:22:58] Speaker A: Maybe something will pop up in the show. Huh? [00:23:00] Speaker C: I would love that. [00:23:02] Speaker B: That's amazing. [00:23:03] Speaker C: Wearing pink. [00:23:05] Speaker A: I'm wondering. Hopefully it's not. I'm sure it's going to be like a little dodgeball esque. But we'll see. [00:23:09] Speaker D: Exactly. [00:23:10] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:23:11] Speaker C: Anything he does is funny. So. [00:23:13] Speaker A: Pretty much. Yeah. And you know what? Bring us more publicity. We ain't going to complain. [00:23:18] Speaker C: Absolutely. Yeah. We're all in on that. [00:23:21] Speaker D: So we keep a list of ideas for new shirts. So we'll be coming out with some stuff. [00:23:26] Speaker C: Yep. [00:23:26] Speaker D: Really soon. [00:23:27] Speaker C: Yep. And then in May we'll be hosting the second annual JoJo and low pickleball Open. And we did our first one last year and it was so much fun. You guys should come. Come. [00:23:40] Speaker A: I was hoping you would say that we're gonna possibly be in Alaska in May. [00:23:45] Speaker C: Well, that doesn't. [00:23:46] Speaker A: Depends on when that we can drive through there on the way. [00:23:49] Speaker B: That would be great. We are driving too. [00:23:51] Speaker C: Oh you're driving. Good for You. [00:23:53] Speaker A: We have another couple we're going with. We're gonna like have a totally awesome road trip. I'm a road trip guy, in case you didn't figure that out already. Yeah. [00:24:01] Speaker D: Are you guys towing an airbus or are you. [00:24:05] Speaker A: No, we'll probably just stay at a hotel, but there's four of us, so we might just drive straight through to Seattle. You never know. [00:24:10] Speaker B: He's like a dime lifetime diamond member, so we just stay wherever. [00:24:13] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:14] Speaker C: That's nice. Yeah. [00:24:16] Speaker A: Too many years in hotels. [00:24:20] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:20] Speaker A: But do let us know when it is. That way we can share that with our listeners. We always joke that we have three listeners, but there's, there's at least four. [00:24:27] Speaker C: So we got a couple more. [00:24:30] Speaker A: Hey, that's awesome. [00:24:33] Speaker C: Yeah, our tournament is super fun. We added on a family day, so it was so much fun, you wouldn't even believe it. So Jody played with her dad, who's really a tennis player, but he's becoming more of a pickleball player now. Jody's daughter ella, who was 12 at the time, played with her husband, Jody's husband Peter. And then we had a great grandmother playing with her great grandson. Like, it was just, it was very, so much fun. And I'm going to play next year. Watch out because I'm going to play with my son in law, who's a pretty darn good athlete. He played for Indiana University. He was a quarterback there. [00:25:14] Speaker A: All right. [00:25:14] Speaker C: So yeah, he's, he has the wingspan to cover like the entire, you know, net. [00:25:20] Speaker B: So that's how our son is. He's, he has got the arms and legs. [00:25:24] Speaker A: It's rough playing against those guys that can dink from a foot away from the net. [00:25:29] Speaker C: They just reach everything. There's no lobbying over them either. [00:25:33] Speaker A: Yeah, it's okay being their partner though. [00:25:35] Speaker C: Yeah. Family day at our tournament is a blast. And so, yep, that'll be May. [00:25:41] Speaker A: And you do that at East Lansing or do you do it elsewhere? [00:25:44] Speaker C: We actually did it at a adorable pickleball facility called the Pickleball Pickle bowl and it's in Lake Odessa, Michigan. It's about 30 minutes from us, but they just have eight really nice courts outside. It's just like in the middle of a farm field. Like, I just, it's like the dreams to me, it's just the most amazing place. So. Yeah, so that's probably. [00:26:07] Speaker A: Do you know the dates yet? [00:26:09] Speaker C: We have it in our last year. [00:26:12] Speaker D: It was May 18th, 19th, so it's going to be the same weekend you guys are going to be in Alaska we'll be gone. [00:26:18] Speaker B: I know. Definitely come next time. [00:26:21] Speaker A: Well, we will make sure in May of 2026 that we have no plans. [00:26:24] Speaker B: We don't normally cruise in May. It's just we wanted to go to Alaska. [00:26:28] Speaker C: So we got May 17th and 18th. So anybody who's listening, come to Michigan Low Pickleball open. [00:26:36] Speaker A: Will it be on pickleball brackets.com or. [00:26:39] Speaker C: Yes. [00:26:40] Speaker A: Okay. Easy to find then. [00:26:41] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:26:42] Speaker A: All right, let's. Let's leave with some good news for our listeners. Do you have any, like Black Friday deals coming up or anything that you. [00:26:51] Speaker B: Can share or when's the last time they can order to get it by Christmas? [00:26:56] Speaker C: Yeah, we're gonna start it on May. [00:26:59] Speaker D: Or, I'm sorry, November 18th, the 18th. [00:27:02] Speaker C: And it'll run until December. Cyber Monday. [00:27:05] Speaker A: Yep. [00:27:05] Speaker C: And it's gonna be 20 off site wide, but we're gonna have about eight or nine other items that are already 20 off. So those items will be 40 off. Wow. So it's gonna be a big sale. It's gonna run a long time. We're also going to make it possible for people to order gifts and then we can hold on to them and ship them, you know, like a week before Christmas or whatever. So that you. It's not a double shipping. Some. Sometimes people buy gifts for people out of state. And so this would make it a really nice, easy process for gift giving. [00:27:43] Speaker A: The business side of me wants to ask, do you have like a warehouse there somewhere? Is it like out of your garage or. [00:27:48] Speaker D: Well, we're at JoJo and Low World Headquarters right now. [00:27:52] Speaker A: It's beautiful. Are you on the fourth story? I can't tell from here. [00:27:56] Speaker D: You should see the view. It's absolutely incredible. [00:27:59] Speaker C: That's awesome. [00:28:00] Speaker A: Corner office, I'm sure, for each of you. [00:28:02] Speaker D: So we, we do produce in house. We produce a lot of very large orders with a local screen printer that we partner with. But currently we're warehousing most of our stuff in my basement and mine. [00:28:15] Speaker B: That's okay. [00:28:16] Speaker A: That's how businesses start. It's fantastic. [00:28:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:28:18] Speaker A: You have incredible. [00:28:19] Speaker D: A lot of money. [00:28:20] Speaker A: Cool stuff. [00:28:20] Speaker C: Yeah, absolutely. We, we always think about getting a, you know, an office and. But Jody has a 12 year old too, so like she's running back and forth to school and so it just makes it. [00:28:32] Speaker D: It's easier. [00:28:33] Speaker A: Save the money, put it back into growing your business. You're doing the right thing. Very smart of you ladies. [00:28:37] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:28:38] Speaker A: I wish that people could see this is an audio podcast so they can't see the lovely shirt. My wife has on. I'm reaching over here and grabbing it right now. She's not thrilled with me, but it's soft, stretchy, wonderful. [00:28:47] Speaker B: So comfortable. [00:28:49] Speaker C: It's so cute on you. It really looks cute. And you the. Thank God for pickleball. We have the ability to add, like, shimmer and sparkle, and that's a silver foil on that shirt. So we like sharp special effects. We have some shirts that have, like, this glitter flake, like, pink sparkly stuff. And xoxo. [00:29:11] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:29:12] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:29:12] Speaker D: I think we do a lot of stuff that other companies can't because we do it in house. So we. We can experiment and test the market. So that's really cool. [00:29:21] Speaker C: Yeah, it is. And we can be as creative as we want. I mean, anything goes. [00:29:27] Speaker A: I love it. All right, listeners, this is your chance to have your own custom stuff made. Let's get it over to our friends Jody and Laurie at JoJo and Low. [00:29:35] Speaker B: Absolutely thankful to have you on today. [00:29:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, my gosh. [00:29:39] Speaker C: Our pleasure. Thank you so much for having us. [00:29:42] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. We like to end every time I tell everyone to say that. Listen up, because we're ahead of the game and so are you. Thanks, ladies. [00:29:51] Speaker C: Love it. [00:29:52] Speaker D: Thank you.
