[00:00:02] Speaker A: We're back in the studio.
[00:00:03] Speaker B: Mental gymnastics. It's okay.
[00:00:05] Speaker A: We're back in the studio. We hit record. Then our daughter calls. We unrecord, we record.
We got a guest waiting in the wings. Yeah, exactly right. We got a guest waiting in the wings. You already heard his voice. We'll get his name here out in a second to you.
[00:00:15] Speaker B: Yeah, very exciting.
[00:00:16] Speaker A: Sky, we have to make an update to one of our podcasts.
[00:00:20] Speaker B: We do.
[00:00:21] Speaker A: The location known as 247 dink. John Hurley came onto our podcast about a month ago. Just. It was a great session with him. Told us all about that facility opening up December 26th, and it's not. It's opening January 10th.
[00:00:37] Speaker B: It's going to open in January.
[00:00:38] Speaker A: Just January. Yeah. Stay tuned. But January 10th, he told us, so we're feeling good about it. We're totally ambassadors for them over there, and we wanted to give you, our fans and friends, all three of you, the update. I hit this four now.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: That's right.
[00:00:49] Speaker A: I need to shift to four. There's at least four listeners now, so stop. All four of you need to know that the Dink24.7 Dink will not open until January 10th. But we got to go to the VIP party this week, and we got to see it. Just. It's going to be awesome.
[00:01:02] Speaker B: So it's amazing.
[00:01:03] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll leave it at that.
[00:01:04] Speaker B: It's great.
[00:01:05] Speaker A: All right, sky, well, listen, this. This guest is partially my fault.
[00:01:11] Speaker B: Totally your fault now.
[00:01:12] Speaker A: Partially your fault. But let's. Let's get things moving. What do you say?
[00:01:16] Speaker B: Let's do it.
[00:01:22] Speaker A: All right, so it's probably been six months, and I'll let the guest that pops on here in a second share for sure. How long it's been, but I heard about a new product through one of the Facebook groups that I manage. He had reached out to me and said, hey, can I promote this product? And I said, no, it's a true story, but it's the Seeking Pickleball Attorneys partner group, which we are extremely strict on the regulations, but we still wanted to promote what he has to offer because we think it's going to be really good and really cool. In fact, we've even had a chance to try it. So it's very good. Let's bring him on without any more information. We'll let him. David lit, by the way, we'll let David share with you guys 5.0. What? What? Yeah. What it is that these guys are doing. So, David, welcome.
[00:02:05] Speaker B: Welcome.
[00:02:06] Speaker C: Well, thanks so much. Appreciate it, Sky. Kevin, looking forward to sharing.
[00:02:10] Speaker A: Awesome.
[00:02:10] Speaker B: Well, do you want to start with your silly pickleball questions first, or do I get to ask?
[00:02:15] Speaker A: Let's get to. Let's get to who David is and the businesses first. So, David, you. Let's talk about your business first. Real quick. 5.0. But I haven't given him any more information than that. Tell us what 5.0 is.
[00:02:26] Speaker C: Sure. So 5.0 is a performance drink specifically for pickleball players. So we named the company 5.0 for two reasons. One is obvious. The ranking of pickleball players. And number two is that our products have five benefits and zero artificial ingredients. And so that's why we're called five Points.
[00:02:49] Speaker B: I like that.
[00:02:50] Speaker A: All right. That's super cool.
[00:02:51] Speaker B: That makes it easy to explain, too. Yeah.
[00:02:53] Speaker C: What.
[00:02:54] Speaker A: What caused you to create this drink?
[00:02:58] Speaker B: You take out my question.
[00:02:59] Speaker A: One of your questions. Yeah, hold on. That's my wife's question. Let's hear it again, Sky.
[00:03:04] Speaker B: So what is the why behind, you know, this product for you guys? Is there a story behind it?
[00:03:12] Speaker C: Well, there is. So I've been in the nutrition space for most of my career, helped grow a lot of startup brands, all different kinds of nutrition beverages, and got introduced to pickleball about two years ago. Now, a friend of mine who's an avid pickleball player down in Florida started playing, and he had a community online and wanted me to help him to grow that community. So he hired me as a consultant, and I just really got enamored with the growth of the pickleball space and also the culture of pickleball. I really, really liked it. I've been an athlete all my life, and unfortunately, the business that I was helping him with, he ended up not funding it and not moving forward. But fortunately for me, one of the components that we were looking at as we were building this community was nutrition, because that was a big part of my backgr. And so then simultaneously, my brother became a pickleball addict, playing at least six times a week. And we started brainstorming. And when I told him that this other pickleball business was not going to launch, I said, hey, why don't we launch our own brand of pickleball performance drinks? I think there's a real opportunity in the marketplace. You know pickleball really well. I know nutrition and marketing, and so it's been great. We've been working together and excited to be launching the business next week.
[00:04:45] Speaker A: Awesome. Let's get back more into the business here in a bit. Let me ask you a couple of more fun Lighthearted questions.
[00:04:51] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: You are a pickleball player.
[00:04:53] Speaker C: I am.
[00:04:55] Speaker A: And your favorite shot in pickleball is.
[00:04:59] Speaker C: Down the middle, in between married, double.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Like a drive.
[00:05:04] Speaker C: Drive it down the middle, in between. In between married doubles, partners.
That always works.
[00:05:13] Speaker A: So you're that.
[00:05:16] Speaker C: Dividends.
[00:05:16] Speaker A: Long term, you're the reason pickleball, marriage breakups.
[00:05:22] Speaker C: There you go. There you go.
[00:05:23] Speaker A: Oh, that's. That's a great shot down the middle, they say solves the riddle, so it is a good place to go, especially against married, married or. Or arguing teams. We like to create that argument if.
[00:05:31] Speaker B: We can animosity begin with. That always helps.
[00:05:34] Speaker A: Yeah. When did you get into pickle?
[00:05:36] Speaker C: It's two years ago. Like I said, almost to the day. So my friend who's from Florida, I was down visiting on some other business, and yeah, we started playing and I really enjoyed it and been playing consistently ever since, but not at the level of addiction that my brother has or my friend has or lots of folks have. So I certainly enjoy it. But I'm not a super high level player. My brother is, but I'm not.
[00:06:04] Speaker A: Who cares?
[00:06:06] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:06] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:06:07] Speaker A: All right, two more questions from me, and then we'll hand it over to our other nutritionist here in the room.
My next question, I ask everybody these first three questions. So my next question is like, do you have a walk on song? Is there a song you want to hear playing when you come onto that court?
[00:06:22] Speaker C: You know, I kind of impartial to some old school rap, so that's kind of what I tend to listen to.
Yeah, so.
[00:06:32] Speaker B: But, you know, it's because he's mine.
[00:06:35] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, but I, you know, I definitely listen to rock as well, so.
Yeah. So I've got a couple mixes.
Yeah.
[00:06:46] Speaker A: Who's old school? Who's old school rap to you? I'm old, so I'm gonna find out how old you are here.
[00:06:51] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, you know, I don't know, something like Nelly or something like that. Old school 90s, 90s, 2000s.
[00:06:59] Speaker A: You young pup, you.
[00:07:01] Speaker B: Yeah, I love it.
[00:07:03] Speaker A: All right. This guy's, like, got her boys to men, you know, too. Oh, it's still sitting on her desk at home.
[00:07:09] Speaker B: So I did not. I wasn't one of those fan girls. No. No.
[00:07:15] Speaker C: All right, well, I. I guess if it. I guess. I guess if it's the last game of the match, you know, some AC DC or something. Always.
[00:07:23] Speaker A: Now we're talking.
[00:07:24] Speaker C: There we go. I figure I hit a hot button there.
[00:07:26] Speaker A: That's okay. I can do a little LL Cool J. A little salt and peppa.
[00:07:29] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. There you go. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:07:31] Speaker A: It's all good stuff.
[00:07:32] Speaker B: Things that we listen to now and our kids are. Are you listening to.
[00:07:36] Speaker A: My next question is this. I've never asked anyone this question before. You're the first.
[00:07:41] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:07:42] Speaker C: I'm holding on tight.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: What sport have you given up to play more pickleball.
[00:07:47] Speaker C: I probably lift weights less because I play pickleball at my gym. So, you know, that. That's really the main thing is, you know, I used to go to the gym to work out and basketball, too. And the reason I gave up basketball is because my Lifetime Fitness took out the basketball courts and put in pickle courts. So that was kind of not. Not voluntary. And I gotta say, I was not super happy when it first happened, but now I'm definitely flowing with it. So we've got a couple of indoor courts. We got 10 outdoor courts at our. At our facility. So it's really nice.
[00:08:24] Speaker A: Somebody needs to come up with a parody song like, you pave paradise and put up a parking lot.
You paved a tennis court, and you put up a pickleball. That.
[00:08:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:33] Speaker A: But something we'll get. We'll figure something out there.
[00:08:34] Speaker C: I was at the Dallas PPA national event last week, and there was a really funny sign that said something like, hey, tennis players, thanks for the courts.
[00:08:44] Speaker B: I. Yes. You and I are in the same wavelength. That was a hoodie, and I bought it.
I'm not sure when I'm gonna wear it.
[00:08:52] Speaker A: I'll wear it every day, baby.
[00:08:54] Speaker B: So my tennis friends may not like that very much, but. Yeah.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: Huh.
[00:08:58] Speaker B: It's happening.
[00:08:59] Speaker A: So I think some of our listeners know, but my wife is a nutrition coach. She has her nutrition certification from Issa, I believe. Is that correct?
[00:09:06] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:09:07] Speaker A: And so that means she's got much better questions for you than. So I'm going to shut up. Which is abnormal on this podcast.
[00:09:14] Speaker B: True.
[00:09:14] Speaker A: I'm going to hand it over to my lovely wife, who's more prepared than me to ask you some great questions. Hit it, baby.
[00:09:20] Speaker B: Well, I. I think.
[00:09:21] Speaker C: Let's go.
[00:09:22] Speaker B: Thank you, honey. I think the importance of hydration is the fact that you don't want to be out of balance. And we might even share a story that we had happen to us personally, not us individually, but one of Kevin's pickleball partners had a really serious incident with dehydration. So what I thought it would be helpful, David, is for you to explain to our listeners what electrolytes are, because a lot of people don't Know what they are?
[00:09:54] Speaker C: Sure. So electrolytes are minerals, and the most common one is sodium salt, but also potassium, calcium, chloride. And maybe the simplest way to describe it is it helps with cellular communication.
And so, you know, whatever happened to your friend and pickleball partner, Kevin, I'm sure, has to do with ultimately the breakdown of cellular communication. And so while water is the primary component of hydration, these mineral are absolutely essential to go along with the water to keep your cells communicating. And so lots of bad things happen when you're dehydrated and obviously can ultimately lead to serious issues or death. We cannot go a long time without water, and we can't go a long time without these electrolytes. And so it's a really, really important part of performance, and it's a really important part of safety when you're playing hard because your body will dep. Deplete and use the sodium, potassium, calcium, and chloride along with the water. So certainly if you're playing, you know, more than 45 minutes, you really should be taking an electrolyte drink rather than just water. Otherwise your performance is going to not be at its highest level. And safety wise, too.
[00:11:18] Speaker A: You said 45 minutes. That blows me away. I will go two hours without drinking anything. I need to change my habits.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: I know. I've been telling you.
[00:11:27] Speaker C: Yeah, Sky's the expert, so I trust her number more than mine.
[00:11:32] Speaker A: But, yes, I gotta listen to her.
[00:11:33] Speaker C: I would say. I would say, you know, you don't want to be exercising hard more than 20 or 30 minutes without water, and you don't want to be exercising more than 45 minutes without electrolytes, is my opinion.
[00:11:46] Speaker B: I think another.
And we've talked about this on the show before, another thing that people don't understand is that you need to go into a competition hydrated.
[00:11:56] Speaker A: Already hydrated.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: And so I. And what I tell people is it takes three days. Like, you need to be on your water or any of your hydration products for three days before you go into a competition. Because sometimes, I mean, like, when I was in martial arts, our belt testing lasted 10 hours. Wow. So we were just soaked by the time we were done.
[00:12:21] Speaker C: Yeah, I think that's. I think that's a great advice. So, you know, when you're talking about tournaments, you know, that's a whole nother other level. And. And you're playing hard and sitting and playing hard and sitting. And, you know, and it definitely starts at least the day before. You know, two or three days before is probably optimal. So I think that's Great advice.
[00:12:41] Speaker A: I'm going to actually dispel a myth. I hear all the time. People tell me, oh, Gatorade is great for you. And like, there may be electrolytes in it, I don't know, but they always talk about sugar as an electrolyte. And I'm like, that's not an electrolyte?
[00:12:53] Speaker C: No, sugar's not an electrolyte. The salt is the sodium. So I mean, Gatorade mostly is. It's got sodium, potassium, and calcium. But, you know, that's one of the things that I love about our drink is I think it's just as important what we don't put into the drink is what we do put into the drink. So my concern with Gatorade is, you know, a little bit less with the electrolytes and much more with the artificial ingredients. So, you know, the artificial colors and the artificial flavors and the artificial sweeteners to me are a bigger issue long term, health wise than, you know, their electrolytes kind of profile, if you will benefit. So. So yeah. So for a hydration perspective, I think our product exceeds Gatorade in a couple of important ways. But just as importantly, we don't put in any of that junk.
[00:13:43] Speaker B: So I love what you just said, and I want to make sure that people understand it's not just about what's in the electrolyte drink that you have, but what's not in there. And so I'm looking at your ingredients. You were so kind to send us some samples and a fun bottle and a sweat towel. And I, at first, the first thing I looked at on the ingredients is there sugar is not in your ingredients at all. Yeah, it is very pleasantly sweet, not overly sweet, but just like the right amount of sweet for me at least. And so I. I've really enjoyed the samples and there's some really fun things in here that I will say for you to talk about. But you talked about five main ingredients, and do you want to cover what those five are?
[00:14:33] Speaker C: So you're talking about the five benefits.
[00:14:35] Speaker B: Oh, the five benefits. Yeah.
[00:14:37] Speaker C: Yeah. So. So the five benefits are hydration. So that's another big part of why we're so much different than Gatorade is. Gatorade's a hydration drink. That's all it does. So our. Our product perform. It's our first product is hydration, energy endurance, anti cramping, and focus. So there are five benefits, and each of those benefits has several ingredients that support the benefit.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: I would love to hear what the energy ones are. Is there Caffeine in it.
[00:15:10] Speaker C: There is, yeah, so we've got 60 milligrams of caffeine. It comes from two natural sources. One is green tea extract and the other is yerba mate.
And green tea tends to be be very gentle on the system. It's a more balanced type of energy. You know, by using whole plant extracts, you're also getting some of the other phytonutrients and things that kind of offset the caffeine. So it's not just cheap, you know, straight caffeine. And then the yerba mate tends to be more of a time delayed energy and a longer lasting energy. So 60 milligrams, just to put it into perspective, is much less than a cup of coffee and you know, a bit more than a soda. So, you know, for those who are super sensitive to caffeine, you know, you definitely want to check it out.
But you know, this is meant to be a performance drink. And just like you burn electrolytes, you know, you use energy as you're playing pickleball. And so having 60 milligrams of caffeine for most people is not a big deal. But importantly, when you're playing sports, um, actually that level of caffeine is pretty mild.
[00:16:22] Speaker B: Well, and pickleball. Well, I'm going to just talk about myself briefly. Keeping score is not my favorite thing to do and I sometimes get distracted. So you mentioned focus.
[00:16:35] Speaker A: How much, how much lines manes in there for this lady? I don't even know what you're using. What's the focus component?
[00:16:41] Speaker C: So we've got a couple of herbal extracts and we've got an amino acid. So the amino acid is L theanine. And then the two herbal extracts, one is called Bacopa Monieri and the other is Rhodiola rosea. So those are all things that are known for high level brain function, focus, mental acuity, those kinds of things, and anticipation. So I mean, you know, with pickleball, so much of it is about being aware, aware of where the ball's going, where your partner is, spatial awareness, those kinds of things. So I think it goes beyond just focus and really into mental acuity that I think you'll notice a difference on the court.
[00:17:23] Speaker B: That's awesome. Maybe it'll help.
It's so funny too because when people talk about what you need to do to be an athlete or have fitness forever, that includes nutrition and hydration, it includes good amount of sleep, but it also includes stretching. And I don't know what it is about hydration and stretching. That people struggle with so much of the time. Time.
[00:17:52] Speaker A: I can tell you what it is.
[00:17:53] Speaker B: They don't want to take the time.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: Yeah, we'd rather play pickleball.
[00:17:55] Speaker B: What you get out to that court and you're like, tada.
And I don't have to stretch, but as I get older, I don't know about the two of you, but as I get older, you know, all of a sudden you're like, oh, the next day feels really rotten. If you, if you don't stretch before and after.
[00:18:13] Speaker A: Well, let's for sure, let's throw a pickleball curveball question at you because you mentioned anti cramping, which I love.
Oftentimes at pickleball tournaments, like people will drink pickle juice.
[00:18:25] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:18:25] Speaker A: To stop the cramping. And David, I don't know how much studying you've done on it. I have done none. So I'm just going to ask you straight up. Is it just the sodium in there that's helping them with the anti cramping or is there something special in pickle juice besides that?
[00:18:38] Speaker C: You know, I'm not an expert on it. I do know that a lot of people really believe in it. It is certainly partially sodium. My guess is that it probably has some magnesium as well. Magnesium is probably the most important min for anti cramping. And our product has magnesium in it. And then we also use vitamin D3 and vitamin B6. So those are the two other ingredients in our product that helps with cramping. So yeah, so pickle juice, I'd have to look it up and you know, so I'm all for, you know, natural solutions and those kinds of things. I can guarantee you that nine out of 10 people will say our drink tastes better than pickle juice. So that was my next question is.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: Well, we have a pickle flavored 5.0 soon, please.
[00:19:25] Speaker C: There you go. Hey, one out of ten people, I'm sure they'll probably prefer pickle juice to ours, but they're the people that drink the water out of the used hot dogs. When you boil hot dogs.
[00:19:36] Speaker A: Oh yeah, that's tasty stuff right there.
[00:19:39] Speaker C: We can't account for everybody, but yeah. So magnesium.
[00:19:43] Speaker A: I think we have pink lemonade flavor over here.
[00:19:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I think so.
[00:19:47] Speaker C: Yep. So that's surprise. We're launching with one product called performing and it is a pink lemonade flavor. But it's interesting. You know, sky was talking about, you know, kind of after playing and off the court. So we're in R and D for our second product, which is Called Recover. So our first product perform, you take before you play, like sky said, maybe up to three days before you play if you're going for a tournament, you know, and really trying to get super hydrated obviously during play for endurance and for focus and those kinds of things. And then the second product will be called Recovery and that's going to be specifically anti inflammatory muscle joint support, those kinds of things. So excited about that one too.
[00:20:25] Speaker A: Here's my, here's my marketing question. Will it also have five specific benefits and zero bad stuff?
[00:20:34] Speaker C: Exactly 100%. You're hired, Kevin, you're hired.
[00:20:37] Speaker A: I love it. I mean you have to at this point, you called yourself 5.0. It's kind of on you.
[00:20:42] Speaker C: That's that, that's the commitment. Every product that we launch will have five benefits and zero artificial ingredients.
[00:20:48] Speaker A: I see you sitting around the table going, man, we've only got four. What else can we say good about these products?
[00:20:54] Speaker C: We've got all five set. We've got all set, five set for recover. We're excited about same concept which is, you know, the five benefits are going to have several ingredients that support each benefit. So it's a pretty packed product.
You know, one of the things we didn't talk about just going back to hydration is we also have organic coconut water as one of the ingredients for our hydration components. So it's not just, you know, calcium and chloride and sodium and potassium, you know, potassium and some of the basic minerals. But organic coconut water is also one of those all natural plant based solutions that has more goodies in it phytonutrient wise than just the isolated mineral. So we're pretty excited about that.
[00:21:40] Speaker B: Explained a lot of why I love it. I love coconut water and you're right, I do, I do taste a hint of that. Um, but it's one of those things where you're like, I'm not sure until you have someone say it and then you're like, okay, now I can't taste it. And going back to the caffeine angle as well, Tea, the tea molecule and my tea friends out there can, can help me out with this, maybe comment on this on online. But the T molecule of caffeine or they let me rephrase that. The molecule of caffeine in T actually has a calming component. So it gives you energy, but not this. It's not the same molecule that's in coffee.
[00:22:19] Speaker A: It's not the jittery energy.
[00:22:21] Speaker B: No. So when you know the slogan, you know, keep calm and drink tea Came out there, there was some truth to that. And so to, you know, for you guys to add that into this blend is just amazing.
[00:22:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I think the component that helps to offset it on the green tea side is called Catechins, I'm pretty sure. And so it has a calming and balancing component. So it kind of offsets a little bit and creates that calming energy. And, you know, the other big thing is you don't want to crash. I mean, you know, you definitely don't want to have, you know, a spike in a crash because most people are playing pickleball for hours. You know, they're not playing for minutes, they're playing for hours. And so to have an extended calm energy for hours is really what we were shooting for, definitely.
[00:23:14] Speaker B: So when do you, you know, I don't want you to give us any trade secrets, but when do you think or what do you. What is your target date for that second product launch? The recovery product?
[00:23:25] Speaker C: I think it'll be second. I mean, I think it'll be first quarter, probably. Probably March.
You know, we went through four different variations of tests on perform for effectiveness and for flavor. So the recover product is in R and D. And as good as our R and D folks are, I'm confident that the first version is not going to be the one that we launch because we'll want to make it better and try it out with real players on the court. So I would guess March.
So we'll see, maybe soon.
[00:24:00] Speaker B: Well, Kevin, would you share your story about your.
[00:24:04] Speaker A: I mean, you shared most of it. The. The ultimate outcome for him was, you know, hospitalization for, I think, almost a week.
[00:24:11] Speaker B: It's crazy.
[00:24:12] Speaker A: Yeah, he was in a fetal position on the ground. I mean, it was that bad, you know, 91 1, not good.
[00:24:19] Speaker B: Were you guys playing at the time?
[00:24:20] Speaker A: I think they call it Purple Brain. He. It was the day after with me. He was playing mixed doubles that day. He just started not feeling good. Ended up in his tent and then like up into the fetal position and it wasn't good. So he's. He's great now. Like, no seeming after effects, but. But it was, you know, actually, we didn't know, but it was kind of touch and go for a while there.
[00:24:38] Speaker B: So, yeah, a young, younger guy. Dad.
[00:24:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:24:40] Speaker B: Of two or three.
[00:24:41] Speaker A: Great shape. Shape.
[00:24:42] Speaker B: Great shape.
[00:24:42] Speaker A: But hot and windy out. So, you know, that dries you out a little bit extra when it's not.
[00:24:46] Speaker B: A lot of shade during that tournament.
[00:24:48] Speaker A: No shade while we were playing, I mean, underneath our canopies. But that was really, it. And, yeah, around here. Know who I'm talking about. But we're just holding his name out for. For a good reason, just so he doesn't have to share it with the whole world. But.
[00:24:58] Speaker B: Right.
[00:24:59] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a. It was an eye opener for me, too. And I. I tend to not hydrate.
It just goes back to me being young, like, from. From age, whatever on. I can think of all my. Whether it's football, basketball, track. It didn't really matter to me.
I actually felt better when I didn't drink. Like, my stomach.
[00:25:20] Speaker B: You didn't want the sloshy?
[00:25:21] Speaker A: I didn't. Yeah. I didn't enjoy that feeling. And so I think one of the things. That's a big benefit, about 5.0, and I hate to give them a sixth benefit here.
I'm not trying to put you guys in any jeopardy over there, but one of the benefits is you don't have to drink a lot of it.
[00:25:34] Speaker C: No, it's really true. That's a really, really good. Good point, Kevin. And it's something I've noticed myself, is that I stay hyd. Hydrated longer with less fluids. So it's not a claim we're making, but I'm glad you brought it up, you know, because we want to be careful. And. And I think that, you know, from a hydration standpoint, I think, you know, you've got two different types of folks. You've got, you know, people that are playing at high levels that really want to have the highest level of performance, and then you have other people that really focus more on safety and comfort and those kinds of things. And so, yeah, sometimes it is the younger people that, you know, feel like they're 10ft tall and bulletproof, that are just like, I don't need to drink water. You know, I'm fine.
So, you know, this is more than a hydration product, but hydration is definitely benefit number one.
[00:26:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:26:27] Speaker C: And I think it is the most important benefit for pickleball players that we deliver.
[00:26:32] Speaker A: Yeah. I remember when, like, the Olympic team, the U.S. olympic team was like, hey, chocolate milk's a really great, like, recovery drink or whatever. Or during.
[00:26:39] Speaker B: During exercise, it was the opposite. The US Spent a bunch of money to create this recovery drink for their swimmers. It was like. It was like a chocolate milk.
[00:26:48] Speaker A: Yes, the chocolate milk.
[00:26:50] Speaker B: And then, like, the UK Was like, we're just gonna stick with chocolate milk because it's, like, the same. Yeah, yeah.
[00:26:55] Speaker A: I didn't. I'm just saying that they came out, there was chocolate milk. I knew The Olympics. So, like, for me, I was like, yes, chocolate milk. Like, I'll start drinking that like crazy. And again, I would drink, you know, a pint of it. And I'm like, oh, I just don't. I just didn't enjoy how it made me feel afterwards.
[00:27:11] Speaker B: And when you're competing milk products. Yeah, it's just, it's a little rough.
[00:27:15] Speaker A: It didn't matter to me if it was water. But I. But this, but this drink of yours, that's what I'm saying is like, I can do it. Like it. I. I told you earlier, you asked me off camera about, you know, you sent some samples that we tried it. Yes, but I'm not. I just don't drink these things. That's kind of what I was saying to you earlier. Um, but I have found that even though that it's not my thing. I like it. Um, but I like it because I can kind of like slide by my, my, my junk, my bags, all my stuff, take a quick sip and not feel bothered by having like, glug, glug, glug, glug, you know, like a bunch of water or whatever. So, yeah, I like that.
[00:27:48] Speaker B: Sip it between rounds and timeouts. Yeah, it's.
[00:27:52] Speaker C: It's. I just texted. I. I just, I just texted our R D guy. We need to check for chocolate milk flavor for our recovery drink.
I got it. We're using you as a. You're, you're, you're using as a guest. I'm using you as a focus group.
[00:28:07] Speaker A: So I'm already hired. So I feel like I have the freedom now to tell you that on top of it, if you put it next to the pickle flavored, when you'll sell way more of the chocolate ones.
[00:28:16] Speaker C: There you go.
We'll have two products. We'll have a pickle flavored perform and a chocolate milk flame. People will be doubled over after their, after their matches.
[00:28:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:27] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:28:29] Speaker A: Let me. Well, what other questions do you have?
[00:28:31] Speaker B: Well, I wanted to make sure that people know how to get your product. Of course, put your link in social media. But for those who might be listening and they can't write because a lot of people listen when they're driving.
[00:28:44] Speaker A: Okay. I was like, you're making them out to be.
[00:28:47] Speaker B: No, we're a great drive podcast. Yeah. So, you know, they might want to think about, you know, where to go.
[00:28:52] Speaker A: Yeah. What's the website?
[00:28:53] Speaker C: Maybe. Or maybe they've got headphones on and they're playing pickleball and they're listening.
[00:28:57] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:28:57] Speaker A: A possibility. And I wouldn't blame them if they were listening to us while doing that. That would be a smart move on their part.
[00:29:02] Speaker B: Everyone listen.
[00:29:03] Speaker A: You should do that.
[00:29:04] Speaker C: So the website is 5.0.net so that's the number 5 p o I n t z e r o dot net like pickleball. Net.
And then I'd like to use the code Sweet lobs to give $10 off to everybody who's listening. So I really appreciate you inviting me on and would love to have people sample and try the product. And so, yeah, $10 off on a bag. And that's one of the things we didn't discuss. The product comes in individual stick packs. It's a powder you pour into water.
So it's meant to mix with 12 to 16 ounces of water, but you can adjust the flavor however you'd like. So, you know, if you want it stronger, you know, you can use a little less water. If you want it a little, you know, weaker, then you can put more water in. But that's one of the things that's nice compared to a Gatorade where, you know, you buy a flavor and that's the flavor. This is a powder. So, yeah, easy to carry to the courts, easy to share with other people.
But, yeah, $10 off. Use the code sweet lobs at 5.0. That.
[00:30:15] Speaker A: That is awesome. Thank you so much for creating that for our group. What. Is there anything else we should have asked you that you haven't yet shared with us that we need to know?
[00:30:23] Speaker C: No, I think. I think we covered a lot. I really appreciate you giving me the forum to share all about the product. I think we covered all the benefits and what it is and how it works and gave a little sneak preview that we got another product coming down the pike and we've got a little bit of swag. We got some water bottles and towels and hats and actually doing a relationship with an outside company. And we'll have hoodies and some other stuff. So, I mean, long term, I think the goal would be to be a lifestyle brand. There's certainly a handful of great ones out there in the pickleball space, but, you know, nutrition's our thing, and we're going to stay focused on performance. Drinks in powdered form. Easy to use, easy to share. Perform first one, recover coming next. And yeah, go to50.net it use sweet lob. Save 10 bucks. Easy, easy. That's your shortcut.
[00:31:14] Speaker A: I'm looking for the. That's. I love it. Thank you. I'm looking for the 2026 version called Sleep.
[00:31:20] Speaker B: Oh, there you go.
[00:31:21] Speaker C: Sleep well, you know, I gotta figure out five. Yeah, I got five. Five benefits. I got a bundle. I got four other benefits. I gotta bundle with it, and we'll figure it out. There you go. Listen, I've done. I've done a. I've done a ton of relaxation and sleep products and all kinds of things throughout my career, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for sure.
So, yeah, we'll put.
I'll hook you directly up with our R and D person since you're now running marketing, Kevin, and we're good to go, man. Saves me time. I can work on sales, you work.
[00:31:52] Speaker A: On marketing, and that's great. I love it.
[00:31:55] Speaker C: Sorry, Sky, I'm grabbing.
[00:31:57] Speaker B: He's the foodie.
[00:31:58] Speaker C: Separate project.
[00:31:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm here for him.
[00:32:01] Speaker A: Yeah. You're awesome, babe. All right, well, listen, David, thank you so much, you and the
[email protected] that we're very grateful for the samples, very grateful for having you on the podcast. And that means that our listeners now have a way to prepare ahead of the game, to be ahead of the game. We always say that, don't we, Sky? That we're ahead of the game, and so are you. Let's go.
