[00:00:01] Speaker A: Okay, sky, let's get rolling. We are in Oklahoma City. Yahoo and go Pacers. Interestingly enough, we're not here for the game. [00:00:11] Speaker B: We are not. [00:00:12] Speaker A: We know this is all going to happen. Maybe we would have scheduled and not bought tickets. Probably still. We wouldn't have bought tickets. [00:00:19] Speaker B: We got. We got things to do, game. [00:00:21] Speaker A: We got stuff to get done. I am here with the ever lovely sky Sweet love, the namesake of sweet lobs Huff. But not the pickleball Mecca, because we're not in Anderson, Indiana. But we're on the road. And we're on the road for a very specific reason. And it's because. That's right. We're ahead of the game. Or at least we're trying to be. And here's the deal. We have been teasing in the last few episodes that this is coming and we're ready to tell you all about it. We want to tell you why we're on the road. [00:00:59] Speaker B: Yes. We want to share with you more about what our future is. We're about. But I don't know. How do you say that? [00:01:08] Speaker A: Like what. What we're launching. [00:01:11] Speaker B: What we're launching. I like that. [00:01:13] Speaker A: Our future is more years of love together, my friend. My best friend. Yeah. There is feedback. Sorry, everybody, for the feedback. [00:01:20] Speaker B: We're sorry about that. [00:01:21] Speaker A: We're at a hotel, as I mentioned, and it's just kind of is what it is. So we'll work to eliminate that. But I think it's just not going to happen. Oh, wait. Maybe that did it. [00:01:32] Speaker B: Well, anyway, maybe it's your electric personality. [00:01:34] Speaker A: That must be it. I'm electric. [00:01:36] Speaker B: You have some sort of feedback of your own. [00:01:40] Speaker A: It's my rhythms. All right, so we are launching officially a pickleball tournament tour slash series. [00:01:52] Speaker B: It's going to be incredible. [00:01:56] Speaker A: We are pretty stoked. The name of our company is PB Time. It's pickleball time, yo. [00:02:03] Speaker B: Or y' all, since we're in Oklahoma, y' all. [00:02:06] Speaker A: Well, that's not. Yeah, I suppose a little here. Maybe it's a little more. [00:02:09] Speaker B: Somebody else has that trademarked, I'm sure. But yeah, it was fun to say. [00:02:12] Speaker A: I do think you're. You're our peoples. Holderness. [00:02:16] Speaker B: Holderness. [00:02:16] Speaker A: Family pickleball, y' all. [00:02:17] Speaker B: Great. [00:02:18] Speaker A: Sorry, guys, we didn't mean to steal that from you. Yes. We have launched a pickleball tournament company. Our first tournament, our inaugural PB Time event will be in September at the Pickler in Noblesville. And I am stoked. [00:02:34] Speaker B: It's gonna be so fun. [00:02:35] Speaker A: It's September 11th. Through the 14th. So Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, lots of levels. Thursday and Friday will be a mix of singles and some of our 60 plus play. And then Saturday will be your typical men's and women's doubles for the other ages. And then Sunday will be mixed doubles for the other ages. So excited. Beyond excited and desperate for you to sign up. Begging. [00:03:06] Speaker B: We don't need to beg because this is going to be one of those tournaments where we are focused on you, the player. It's not about catering to a conglomerate who is all about revenue, revenue return or pros or. This is about creating a player experience where you want to come back every single time. [00:03:27] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I agree. We want to be 100, focused on the player and giving them the most incredible experience possible. That is like totally our goal. So PB time will. Will stand for that. [00:03:41] Speaker B: Yeah. And that's why we've been doing commercials. We've been teasing you a little bit here and there with each podcast that has led up to this moment. We knew we were about to leave and do the tour where we are basically looking for facilities to host these tournaments. And it's been a lot of fun being a scout. I haven't. Haven't done this in a while and it's been a lot of fun. [00:04:05] Speaker A: You're great at it. And we have. We've already hit St. Louis. [00:04:10] Speaker B: Yep. [00:04:10] Speaker A: We've already hit Springfield, Missouri, Branson, Missouri Branson, Tulsa, Oklahoma. And we've not yet hit anywhere here in Oklahoma City. We just got here and set up the podcast studio so we could reach out to our fans. You. [00:04:24] Speaker B: That's right. We do have appointments tomorrow and it'll be exciting to be able to share. What's the next step for Oklahoma City? [00:04:31] Speaker A: What's really cool is that one of our appointments tomorrow is with the ymca. Would you kind of go. Eh. They're probably not going to be the place to have a big tournament, but. [00:04:39] Speaker B: We'Re so excited for them. [00:04:40] Speaker A: We are stoked because in this, the relationship you have due to your work with pickle play, you should tell. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Yeah. So somebody donated money for them to put in brand new outdoor courts. It's called the Early Wine Park YMCA and it's designated pickleball courts. And I'm so excited. I don't even know if they're finished yet. I'm going to get a sneak peek tomorrow and be able to talk to you. Hopefully we might have to play without lines, but that doesn't matter. We're outside, we're playing pickleball. [00:05:13] Speaker A: At least you won't miss any line calls. [00:05:14] Speaker B: That's true. We'll just have to make it up as we go. That's funny, honey. [00:05:21] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:05:21] Speaker B: Anyway, we're excited to be able to see them. I haven't. I've only seen them over zoom. It'll be fun to actually meet them in person. [00:05:29] Speaker A: We have quite a few other places that are lined up as well, and eager to see all of those, too. After Oklahoma City, we have Amarillo. After Amarillo, we hit Pueblo, Colorado, then Colorado Springs. Lots of places in the Denver metro area. From Denver to Longmont to Boulder, Fort Collins, maybe even. [00:05:47] Speaker B: Yep. [00:05:48] Speaker A: And then another quick trip that takes us through Kansas City later this summer. [00:05:53] Speaker B: Yep. [00:05:53] Speaker A: Well, yeah, like in two weeks, three weeks. Kansas City, Oklahoma. Oh, sorry. I'll get this. Kansas City, Omaha, Lincoln, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Grand Rapids. Hopefully Fort Wayne and back home. [00:06:08] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:06:09] Speaker A: And then Madison, Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and the Twin Cities up in Minnesota. [00:06:15] Speaker B: Well, that'll be a solo trip for. [00:06:17] Speaker A: You before the end of July. [00:06:18] Speaker B: I. I'll be. I'll be hanging back for that one. [00:06:22] Speaker A: We'll see. That's what she says now, folks, but I'm going to convince her to come with me. [00:06:28] Speaker B: Somebody's got to complete the legwork. It's fun scouting, but there's still more legwork to do. [00:06:33] Speaker A: So our site, our website, we're working on it. Our logo is nearly complete. We like what we are seeing from our design team. The tournaments are being built and of course, we will run the Hungry Games in November. [00:06:46] Speaker B: It's a classic now. [00:06:47] Speaker A: It is our fourth annual. Every one of them has been over 400 registrants, which is awesome. [00:06:53] Speaker B: And at that one, we are feeding the hungry with your registrations. [00:06:57] Speaker A: And then in late February, early March, we will again run the Furry Fracas. So we've been asked to do that a second year. We're totally stoked. Then it's 15. Well, 14 more tournaments in 2026. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Wow. [00:07:11] Speaker A: Including. I'm going to tease this one. Including Espana. We are going to Barcelona. [00:07:19] Speaker B: I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one. It just seems. [00:07:23] Speaker A: It's just like saying, I'm going to St. Louis, but it's farther flight. [00:07:25] Speaker B: It's because you're a visionary and I'm a worker bee. So for me, every time I hear of a new project, my mind instantly goes to the logistics behind it. [00:07:34] Speaker A: Yeah, good. Make it happen. [00:07:35] Speaker B: I want to be in Barcelona. I am not fluent yet in Spanish. I say yet. It's just. [00:07:43] Speaker A: Are you saying you will be by 2026? [00:07:44] Speaker B: Who knows that definitely puts a measurable date on gold. [00:07:50] Speaker A: It makes it real. [00:07:51] Speaker B: It makes it real. [00:07:53] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, we have friends that speak Spanish, thank goodness, fluently. And so maybe we'll take them with us. I'm good at any Spanish. [00:08:00] Speaker B: They've already volunteered. [00:08:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm good at any Spanish restaurant if they speak Spanish. I went to one in Branson. The guy was like, I don't speak Spanish. [00:08:08] Speaker B: He spoke Russian. [00:08:09] Speaker A: He goes, I speak Russian. So I spoke Russian to him, which was pretty cool. [00:08:12] Speaker B: You speak food in any language? [00:08:14] Speaker A: Well, we didn't talk food in Russian, but no. Yeah, I actually, it's. I say I speak Russian. The truth of the matter is I don't speak Russian. I. I used to be decent at it. [00:08:24] Speaker B: You were a linguistics major? [00:08:26] Speaker A: Somewhat. I studied it in high school and in college, but I haven't used it for 30 freaking years. So I'm like, yeah, I remember some of the obvious phrases, you know, like you would in Spanish, like, where's the bathroom? And how are you doing today? [00:08:39] Speaker B: Please and thank you. [00:08:40] Speaker A: Beyond that, I do struggle. I mean, I remember that. Ah, no means door. So if I ever say the word door, I'm good. [00:08:49] Speaker B: What's funny is sometimes we watch a spy movie and he can actually understand some of it, or he'll be like, that's not what that meant. [00:08:54] Speaker A: That's true. Those little. Those little cheaters up there in Hollywood. So. Oh, it's time for our first commercial. Sky. [00:09:02] Speaker B: Oh, do it. [00:09:03] Speaker A: This podcast brought to you by PB Time. It's pickleball time. Yo. Our website will be pbtime Fun. [00:09:14] Speaker B: I love that. [00:09:14] Speaker A: Or pbtimetourneys Fun. So we're off to the races. We've got them both. We. We'll probably use them both and they'll just go the same page, but pbtime.fun. because that's what we're about. [00:09:25] Speaker B: Well, let's do a shout out. So if you are a facility in the Midwest. [00:09:29] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:09:30] Speaker B: Any of those towns or cities that we mentioned, or if you know of somebody in that area that would like to work for us or with us. [00:09:39] Speaker A: Or if you could. Or if you're one day drive from Indiana. [00:09:42] Speaker B: Exactly. Give us a shout out. And we have emails. You want to share your email? [00:09:47] Speaker A: [email protected]. [00:09:52] Speaker B: And mine is Sky S K Y E at pbtimetourneys.fun. [00:09:59] Speaker A: Yeah, that's us. Pbtime Tourneys. Reach out back to our regularly scheduled podcast. [00:10:04] Speaker B: Yes, let's do. [00:10:05] Speaker A: Man, you guys, you don't understand. Like, we are all in on this and it's just been something we've been working towards for quite a while. I knew I wanted to be full time focused in the pickleball industry. I mean, I'm not. I still, I still have duties with Disruptify. I'm not trying to. [00:10:24] Speaker B: Yeah, you have your own company. There's responsibility. [00:10:26] Speaker A: But this is a company that started because of Disruptify. Like, this is one of my portfolio companies. [00:10:30] Speaker B: Sure. [00:10:31] Speaker A: I've known for a long time. I've wanted to do something that was much more, you know, involved in pickleball. I. I love it so much. I love the community, I love the people that, that continue to learn about the sport and find it and go. I had a guy from Australia reach out to me literally yesterday. He goes, kevin, I couldn't wait to tell you this. He said, I took my son and two of his friends and we played pickleball. He was like, I am totally addicted. And it was the first time really, we talked three years ago. He was like, dude, pickleball. He's like, nobody knows what pickleball here is. Here in Australia has grown quickly, actually, Dean. Yes, they do. In Perth. It's pretty popular. [00:11:07] Speaker B: It is growing very quickly. [00:11:08] Speaker A: Sure enough, he pinged me and he was like, it's everywhere. [00:11:11] Speaker B: I love that. [00:11:12] Speaker A: Me too. And Perth is, if you don't know, Australia. It's on the western side of Australia. It's in the western half. There's two. I don't know if they call them states, territories, but there's Western Australia, there's eastern Australia. So Perth is like the capital of Western Australia. It's huge city, tons of commerce, right on the water, and a perfect place for us to have our next pickleball tournament. [00:11:30] Speaker B: That would be amazing. [00:11:31] Speaker A: We should just go straight from Barcelona to Australia. [00:11:34] Speaker B: I will be Australia. So add that country and continent to my list. [00:11:42] Speaker A: If we do, we should go over to Tasmania. [00:11:44] Speaker B: Okay. [00:11:44] Speaker A: And like that. What was that show alone? That's where they did. That was in Tasmania. [00:11:49] Speaker B: That was incredible. Or back to. [00:11:52] Speaker A: No, I'm not. And I'm stuck on New Zealand because I really want to see the Lord of the Rings place. Hobbitville, whatever that place is called. I think that's in. I think that's where the Kiwis live, right? New Zealand. [00:12:03] Speaker B: Yes. Question mark. [00:12:05] Speaker A: Yes. [00:12:06] Speaker B: I. I don't know. Geography is definitely not. [00:12:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:12:10] Speaker B: My strong. What's the capital skill set? [00:12:15] Speaker A: Christian Stat. I feel like that's a town in. In St. Croix. [00:12:22] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:12:23] Speaker A: But It's. Oh, Christ Church. Duh. Starts the same. They both have the word Christ in it. Okay, so it's Christ Church. New Zealand. I think that's the capital. Auckland might be the capital. Those are the only two towns I think I can. [00:12:33] Speaker B: Auckland sounds more. [00:12:34] Speaker A: It's the only two that I can name in New Zealand. Christchurch in Auckland. Anyway, we might just do a tournament there. If you want to go to New Zealand with me, let me know. Oh, seriously, though, you are playing now for Barcelona. If you want to go. We're going to go to Barcelona in August of 2026. [00:12:52] Speaker B: That's the target date. [00:12:53] Speaker A: And. Or Madrid. Potentially two tournaments. We'll see how well we can pull off. Certainly one of the two. And the reason we're going, and I hope this entices somebody to just go, what the heck? I'm in. Is because the solar eclipse will be full in that part of the world in August of next year. [00:13:10] Speaker B: And we just experienced a similar. I mean, a couple events last April. [00:13:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Here and we in Indiana. [00:13:18] Speaker B: Anyway, we thought it was not going to live up to the hype, but it did. [00:13:22] Speaker A: It was amazing. [00:13:22] Speaker B: It was amazing. [00:13:24] Speaker A: So, Twofer, Bogo, come with us to Barcelona. [00:13:31] Speaker B: The. The challenge for me going back to logistics is anytime you launch a company or a new division of a company, sometimes it's the task or the to do list, or all of the different moving pieces can be overwhelming. And one of the reasons why I wanted to talk about this today is because we tell our kids, we tell people that we work with, that we coach. You can do anything you set your mind to. [00:14:00] Speaker A: That's right. [00:14:01] Speaker B: But when you actually put rubber to the road and you put it on paper, you put it out there in the podcast world that you're going to do something and it. It starts to become more real. [00:14:14] Speaker A: You better show up. [00:14:15] Speaker B: You better show up. And pickleball is still a growing industry, a humongously growing industry, and we're excited to be part of it and to do something different, to do something that we know we do well. And we're so thankful to be able to share all of these details with you. We're not going to talk about this every single podcast. [00:14:36] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no. But we might be sponsored by pbtime. Every single podcast. [00:14:39] Speaker B: We probably will. Exactly. And we're excited that because of listeners like you and because of our pickleball community, we're able to do this big, big goal. [00:14:51] Speaker A: I will say a few more things really quickly about our intent. One of them is to do Things that have not been done before tournaments. And here are some examples of what that might look like. We're working on what we're calling a biggest fan award. [00:15:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:04] Speaker A: So if you win a gold medal, we want to give you a second. It doesn't matter who we're talking about individually. Any person, any person that wins a gold medal, we want to give you another gold medal or you can give to your fan. [00:15:18] Speaker B: Okay. [00:15:19] Speaker A: Right. That's what we want to do. And so, yeah, maybe it's a different award, maybe it's a trip, but I think it'll be another medal and it'll be the biggest fan medal now. So there may be, you know, a determinant with 46 events. There might be 95 people walking around with. With biggest fan medals. I would love that. [00:15:33] Speaker B: Yep. [00:15:33] Speaker A: I think that's awesome. Um, so anyway, any gold medal winner, we want to. We want to also give you a chance to honor your biggest supporter. [00:15:41] Speaker B: Could be. [00:15:41] Speaker A: I haven't seen that done before. [00:15:42] Speaker B: No, I haven't either. Could be your spouse. Could be your best friend. Could be your kid. [00:15:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Could be the partner that carried you. [00:15:49] Speaker B: Could have been your partner who carries you. [00:15:51] Speaker A: Might be wearing two medals if you carry me. No, I carry you. No, you carry me. [00:15:54] Speaker B: If you're for fortunate enough to have a coach, you may be your coach. [00:15:57] Speaker A: Sure. Uh, this is a non professional, amateur only tournament. We plan, though, to do money events at most of these tournaments. Hungry Games might be the only exception. We'll see. But certainly the. The August or the September inaugural one will be a money event. So there'll be an open division, men's mixed, women's, just like we did before at Furry Freckas, just like Shannon did. I think she did all three of those at Greatest Spectacle. But either way, we'll have money events as well. So we want to do things different. Like I said, like potentially this whole biggest fan metal. And we've got some other surprises up our sleeve. [00:16:35] Speaker B: Exactly. The other reason I wanted to bring this up is you might be wondering, does that mean that Sweet Lobs is going to cease to exist? [00:16:46] Speaker A: No. [00:16:46] Speaker B: No. Because there's so much to talk about. [00:16:49] Speaker A: You don't go to hell and back and stop your podcast. [00:16:52] Speaker B: Exactly. There are going to be more things to talk about, fun things that we've observed, you know, travel experiences, pickleball across the world. There's, if anything, it's going to expand our content offerings. And Sweet Lobs will be your place to go. [00:17:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:12] Speaker B: For all things pickleball. [00:17:13] Speaker A: Yeah. We expect to have access to more people that can. That we can bring on as guests and. And get things covered we haven't covered before. I actually want to cover shoes. Great podcast. I just bought my first pair of branded Skechers pickleball shoes. I haven't even put them on yet other than to try them on in the store, but I'm interested in seeing if they really, like, have some kind of different feel to them. So maybe we can find a pickleball shoes expert and get them on or something like that. But again, we now have access to more people and more opportunities. So we'll see what we run up against and who we meet and we'll get some extra cool, you know, guests on here for you guys. [00:17:47] Speaker B: We might even build a place where you can see, like, our top 10 favorite courts across the world. [00:17:54] Speaker A: I am gonna give away this. [00:17:56] Speaker B: What's that? [00:17:56] Speaker A: We're gonna do a point system for every one of our tournaments. You play in, you earn points. Oh, so we're gonna have a nationals tournament. [00:18:04] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, I knew that. [00:18:05] Speaker A: And to earn an opportunity to the nationals tournament, if you get gold or silver or have enough points from different tournaments that we've held, you automatically qualify to register for the tournaments. [00:18:18] Speaker B: Oh, I like. [00:18:19] Speaker A: You're guaranteed a spot. [00:18:20] Speaker B: I like that a lot. [00:18:21] Speaker A: Yeah. Pretty stoked about that. [00:18:23] Speaker B: Again, don't give all our. [00:18:25] Speaker A: I'm not. Just give away two of them. Anyway. [00:18:28] Speaker B: Can you tell he's excited? [00:18:29] Speaker A: I. Yeah, folks, I've been up late and then up early and up late and up early. Like, I'm just like, on this thing. [00:18:37] Speaker B: I haven't. Yeah, it's just. He's on fire. [00:18:42] Speaker A: Yes. Let's roll. So that's enough. I mean, we're at 20 minutes. I think that we've given them a great, great preview. We've knocked out another podcast, which is important to stay on top of. We found out. Thank you to our listeners who didn't abandon us during the four or six week pause we took during the heavy tournament season. By the way, we are working on that because we know that we have tournament coming up in September. We're not going to abandon you for the first six weeks. [00:19:04] Speaker B: During that time, we're getting back onto our regular schedule. [00:19:07] Speaker A: We are. We even carried with us literally a mixing board, multiple microphones, multiple headphones, multiple microphone arms. [00:19:17] Speaker B: Yep. [00:19:18] Speaker A: So we could set up the whole studio here in the hotel lobby or a hotel room so that you could get a podcast from us. [00:19:24] Speaker B: And I will say that should make. [00:19:26] Speaker A: At least three to 2,000 people happy. It's such a wide 13 to 2,000. [00:19:33] Speaker B: I will say, you know, shout out to home two. [00:19:36] Speaker A: Yeah, home two suites. Yeah. [00:19:37] Speaker B: This really is an ideal. [00:19:38] Speaker A: It's a perfect setup. They've got a table that we just rolled out between the bed and the couch. She's on one, I'm on the other. And we were able to connect everything on top of this table, and it worked out great. [00:19:48] Speaker B: And we're not sponsored, but who knows what could happen? [00:19:50] Speaker A: Yeah, home, too. So it's by Hilton. All right, everybody, thank you so much for being a big part of our lives, for listening to us. What? Something else you want to say? [00:20:03] Speaker B: Just that we're ahead of the game. [00:20:05] Speaker A: Oh, you did this time. All right, so are you supposed to tell your friends? [00:20:09] Speaker B: Tell your friends, like, follow, share.
