[00:00:00] Speaker A: Watermelon M and Ms. Watermelon M and Ms. Like, we would just hum it, sing it, whatever. Watermelons M and Ms. Just whatever. [00:00:06] Speaker B: Gotcha. [00:00:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:00:07] Speaker B: Sounds like you guys are always hungry. [00:00:09] Speaker A: So I have a surprise for you this week. [00:00:10] Speaker B: You do? [00:00:11] Speaker A: I figured out how to use my rodecaster better, which is my mixing board. [00:00:15] Speaker B: Okay. [00:00:16] Speaker A: It does a lot more things than I figured out. I'm not qualified to figure all those out. But check this out. [00:00:21] Speaker B: Okay? I'm ahead of the game. I'm ahead of the game. [00:00:29] Speaker A: Okay. I'm leading with that because I've been getting questions about how we do our podcasts. And one of the problems that I've had is not an audio mixer, a music mixer, whatever you want to call it. I do have an app called Wavepad. And so I've had to, the first three podcasts, figure out how to mix the music over us talking and fade it out and all that stuff. And I think it actually sounds pretty good, to be honest. I'm just kind of patting myself on the back. I know that. But today I figured out how to build it into the mixer. So if I've done it right, it's going to be in there. I won't know until we hit stop on the recording. [00:01:09] Speaker B: I love how our listeners are on this journey with us, with podcasting. It's pretty funny. [00:01:14] Speaker A: Yeah. They were curious. So what I do is I use zoom. [00:01:17] Speaker B: Right? We cover that. [00:01:19] Speaker A: Right. But I've got the rodecaster, and I've got these wonderful microphones. These? Sure. Microphones. [00:01:23] Speaker B: They're beautiful. [00:01:24] Speaker A: They are mv seven, I think. Is this name of them getting technical? Yeah, well, I can read the side. [00:01:32] Speaker B: I was impressed there for a second. [00:01:34] Speaker A: Thank you. Anyway, what. What's this week's topic? [00:01:39] Speaker B: Pickleball addiction. [00:01:41] Speaker A: Oh, we gotta have a better name than that. [00:01:42] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:43] Speaker A: What's in your bag? What's in your bag, dude? [00:01:50] Speaker B: I don't know. I don't know. You're the one that has the talent for naming things, but, well, it's about pickleball addiction. Nothing good is coming, okay? [00:02:02] Speaker A: And nothing bad, either. There's nothing good coming to mind. I like what's in your bag. What's in your bag? [00:02:06] Speaker B: What's in your bag? That's what we're gonna call it. All right? [00:02:08] Speaker A: We're asking you what's in your bag. Sky, what's in your pickleball bag? [00:02:13] Speaker B: Well, my case was shoes. My. I keep my pro Rx at the office. [00:02:21] Speaker A: Honey, we're never gonna get sponsored, okay? If you call them Pro Rx. [00:02:25] Speaker B: What do you call it? [00:02:26] Speaker A: Pro Xr. [00:02:27] Speaker B: Pro XR. [00:02:28] Speaker A: Just think of them as proxer. [00:02:30] Speaker B: Proxer. [00:02:31] Speaker A: That's how I remember. [00:02:33] Speaker B: I apologize. [00:02:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Ray J, Zayn, and the rest of. [00:02:38] Speaker B: The crew, I love that. I love the paddle. So I keep it at work where I work at a paddle record club. [00:02:43] Speaker A: So I love how you call it a paddle racket club. [00:02:46] Speaker B: Well, I'm, like, one of the few pickleball people on staff. [00:02:50] Speaker A: What's in your bag? Pickleball first. That's my bag. I'm at a paddle racket club. [00:02:56] Speaker B: I don't. I don't play tennis. [00:02:57] Speaker A: Which has legitimate tennis courts at it. You have eight tennis courts, gorgeous courts, and no dedicated pickleball courts. You still call it a paddle racket club, and I think that's awesome. [00:03:07] Speaker B: Again, this podcast is about pickleball addiction. [00:03:11] Speaker A: So what's in your bag? You got. You don't even. You just lied to the whole group. Your paddle's not even in your bag. [00:03:18] Speaker B: And we're only asking, what's my carbons in my bag? [00:03:21] Speaker A: Oh, the carbon too? [00:03:22] Speaker B: Yes. [00:03:22] Speaker A: Okay. [00:03:23] Speaker B: So I keep one in my bag, and I keep one at work, and I just have to, like, wing it on shoes. Like, I don't always have my shoes with me. I probably need a second pair. But I want to try the sketcher shoes. But I sell. We sell casewists at work, so that's what I have. And then I have sunscreen, a water bottle, a towel, Kleenex, wet wipes. [00:03:47] Speaker A: You get a discount on those cases? [00:03:49] Speaker B: I do. [00:03:50] Speaker A: Is that why you buy them? [00:03:51] Speaker B: Well, I also. [00:03:52] Speaker A: They're good shoes. [00:03:53] Speaker B: It's very. They're very good shoes. But also, I wanted to. If I'm gonna work there, I want to. I want to wear what we sell. I think that's good modeling, of course. And when people ask me about them, I can give them my true opinion. [00:04:06] Speaker A: Gotta represent. Is that all that's in your bag? [00:04:10] Speaker B: I keep it pretty clean. Bag? Yeah. [00:04:12] Speaker A: I mean, it doesn't mean you can't have a lot of stuff and they can still be clean. [00:04:15] Speaker B: Well, like, we covered in a previous podcast. You keep selling my extra paddles away from me. So if I keep too many paddles in my bag, you end up finding it and giving it away or letting someone borrow it or. [00:04:26] Speaker A: So before we get to what's in my bag, because I have a feeling that's why you wanted to do a pickleball addiction podcast. [00:04:32] Speaker B: Oh, there's so many funny things about you. Comes to pickleball. [00:04:38] Speaker A: Well, anyway, tomorrow's a big day for you. [00:04:42] Speaker B: Oh, why are we covering that? [00:04:44] Speaker A: Because you get to play pickleball with the big boys. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Oh, I thought you were going to. [00:04:48] Speaker A: Talk about something because it's your birthday. [00:04:49] Speaker B: Oh, stop. [00:04:51] Speaker A: That's why. [00:04:52] Speaker B: Okay. Yes, I'm very excited about playing pickleball with. With the big kids. [00:04:56] Speaker A: I think they're excited, too. [00:04:58] Speaker B: Aw, that's very sweet. [00:04:59] Speaker A: Yeah, once a year. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Once a year. They only have to play with me once a year. [00:05:04] Speaker A: Just kidding. [00:05:05] Speaker B: Hey, I played with some of them on. At the park on Saturday. That was nice. [00:05:08] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm totally messing with you. But we do have Wednesday morning drill session. One of our people can't be there. You get to be there. I say get to where you can. You are. Whatever. However you want to phrase it. Everybody, she's coming. Because it's a birthday. I'm just being very clear about that. [00:05:22] Speaker B: You have to be invited. But I invited myself because it was my birthday. [00:05:27] Speaker A: That's correct. And then I surprised you by telling you, no, you can't go. [00:05:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I was a little disappointed, but. [00:05:34] Speaker A: I understood the plan was to have you there. And then I was like, great. Now my wife doesn't feel good. She's probably mad at me. [00:05:39] Speaker B: No, I was not mad. [00:05:40] Speaker A: Probably hates the whole world. [00:05:42] Speaker B: I was just going to go shopping. [00:05:44] Speaker A: Oh, I just saved money. [00:05:45] Speaker B: You did? [00:05:46] Speaker A: Okay. We both did. [00:05:49] Speaker B: So what's in your bag? [00:05:51] Speaker A: I won't. I mean, you even know. I'm thankful it's not here and I don't have to start pulling stuff out. [00:05:57] Speaker B: First of all, he has more than one bag, so let's just set that straight. I don't. When he says which purse is yours, I can tease him back. Which pickleball bag is yours? [00:06:06] Speaker A: I only carry one bag to a tournament. [00:06:08] Speaker B: Fine, because you have multiple bags. [00:06:10] Speaker A: Yeah, but that one bag is the bag. The other bags have, like, a whole bunch of balls in them or a bunch of demo paddles for, like, the beginner's classes. They're not bags that carry with me everywhere or anywhere. [00:06:20] Speaker B: You also have totes in the back of your truck. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Four totes in the back of my. [00:06:24] Speaker B: There's at least three pairs of shoes in your car? [00:06:27] Speaker A: Yes. Hold on. What's in my bag or what's in my truck? [00:06:32] Speaker B: Well, I'm just in my garage. Which has overflowed into multiple bags, which has overflowed into your vehicle being basically your pickleball closet. Because every. [00:06:43] Speaker A: I'm a pickleball company on wheels, baby. [00:06:45] Speaker B: You really are. Because you want to play pickleball before work, after work, and on weekends. [00:06:51] Speaker A: Well, I want to. I don't. Again, that's for you, Cesar. [00:06:57] Speaker B: No. You don't go every day. [00:06:59] Speaker A: Of course not. [00:07:00] Speaker B: You just try to. [00:07:01] Speaker A: Well, I'd love to. I would love to just retire, maybe. Caesar can make a lot of money and retire me. Go ahead and do that, Caesar. Look, here's what's in my bag. [00:07:11] Speaker B: I think it's cute that you think he's listening to your podcast. [00:07:15] Speaker A: Who knows? I listened to all of his, so he better listen to mine. I have three paddles in my bag, right? One of which you could use tomorrow because it's a Pro XR. That way you can feel at home. You don't have to use that stupid carbon. I don't care if you like it. We're pro XR family. [00:07:31] Speaker B: I love. I love trying out new paddles. [00:07:32] Speaker A: We are a pro XR family, sky. Okay, so I've got. [00:07:36] Speaker B: Your son has a selkirk, though. [00:07:39] Speaker A: Yes. [00:07:40] Speaker B: My old watermelon. [00:07:41] Speaker A: He does. [00:07:42] Speaker B: I call it watermelon. [00:07:43] Speaker A: Our daughter has Pro XR. [00:07:45] Speaker B: She does. She has the white version of what I have as the pink version. [00:07:48] Speaker A: He doesn't play very much, though. [00:07:51] Speaker B: He probably plays more than she does. [00:07:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Now, what else is in my bag? I have head wrap or headband, I guess I should say headband. [00:07:58] Speaker B: Probably multiple. [00:07:59] Speaker A: I mean, I usually keep just one in there, but. [00:08:03] Speaker B: You have towels. [00:08:04] Speaker A: I have a couple towels. I have grips. Multiple grips. Tons of balls. Probably a dozen to 15 balls are in there. [00:08:13] Speaker B: Do you have a favorite? [00:08:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I actually really like the new Selkirk Pro ball. It hits well, it maintains its shape. I don't see them going out around. It's not breaking. We've been beating the heck out of them for, like, I don't know, seven or eight months now since they. Early on, when they came out, we got a box of 100 primed to the machine, drill with them, beat the crap out of them at leagues, and we play with them all the time, and not one is broken. [00:08:39] Speaker B: That's impressive. [00:08:40] Speaker A: You know what else they get? These weird soft spots. So you kind of notice that you hit some squishy spot where you're playing, and you're like, oh, I felt like a marshmallow. Like a Franklin on a warm day. You set it off to the side for ten minutes. Hey, look, most people, anyone listening to this plays with a Franklin knows that it gets like a marshmallow on a warm day. [00:08:56] Speaker B: Okay. [00:08:56] Speaker A: It's just squishy soft I need to. [00:08:58] Speaker B: Write this down because that could be our first t shirt. [00:09:03] Speaker A: I don't even know where to go from there. [00:09:06] Speaker B: Again, you say funny things. Keep going. I'm listening. [00:09:10] Speaker A: Okay, so I like this hell quick ball. If you set it to the side after it gets soft, ten to 15 minutes later. Is it the mood lighting? [00:09:21] Speaker B: Baby, it's just how you describe a pickleball marshmallow on a warm day. [00:09:28] Speaker A: I think a lot of people call it a marshmallow. It's not how I describe it. [00:09:31] Speaker B: Get my composure. [00:09:32] Speaker A: I learned this from other people. [00:09:33] Speaker B: Okay, move on. Keep going. [00:09:34] Speaker A: I'm not. Yeah, you're the one killing me here. [00:09:36] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [00:09:40] Speaker A: So the marshmallow, if you set it off to the side for ten to 15 minutes, it has some kind of deep magic and it heals itself. [00:09:49] Speaker B: Really? [00:09:49] Speaker A: I'm not kidding. [00:09:50] Speaker B: Wow. This is not what I expected. [00:09:53] Speaker A: No? Well, you're the one derailing me, asking about my favorite ball. So let me keep going. [00:09:57] Speaker B: I thought we're going. [00:09:58] Speaker A: What else is in my bag? I keep power cords in there. I keep a. Like an audio device of some kind so I can listen to music in there. I keep batteries in there, right, for charging my iPhone or for charging my audio device, I use a little tiny Dewalt clip on speaker that clips right onto the net. [00:10:14] Speaker B: Wow. [00:10:14] Speaker A: It's awesome. [00:10:15] Speaker B: We're gonna have a list for you guys, so you can pack your own pickleball bag like he. Like Kevin does. [00:10:19] Speaker A: I'm not even close to being done yet. [00:10:20] Speaker B: I know. That's what's so crazy. That's why they were doing this podcast. It's just. [00:10:23] Speaker A: No, I don't have that much more. I do. I keep my shoes in there. I usually keep at least one pair of clean socks in there as well. Mm hmm. I usually like, during the winter time, I'll have a jacket in there. I don't right now. [00:10:33] Speaker B: And then summer sunscreen. [00:10:35] Speaker A: Because you burn sunscreen? Yeah. That's a big one for me because I'm very fair skinned. [00:10:41] Speaker B: Hat in the summer. [00:10:42] Speaker A: I have a hat in there year round, actually. No reason to take it out, really. So those are the big things that I have in there. I have a few other things. So I have these little cones that they're really short, maybe two to three inches high. [00:10:54] Speaker B: There's a hole on the top, so you can. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. Hole on the top. We place them out on the court. We put the balls on top. That becomes part of our drilling sessions. [00:11:00] Speaker B: Do you have those, like, flimsy mats for target. [00:11:03] Speaker A: No, I don't like those. I like the cones. They stack together really well. They don't take up that much room. I mean, they take up like maybe half a shoe worth of space. And I've got like 20 cones, right? So that's really compact. So I love those. I have shoestrings in my pickleball bag. I have. [00:11:22] Speaker B: That's very practical. [00:11:23] Speaker A: The rule book in my pickleball bag. [00:11:26] Speaker B: Really printed. [00:11:26] Speaker A: Actually, take a look right here in front of you. [00:11:28] Speaker B: Oh, sure. [00:11:29] Speaker A: That's it. It's not my bag right now. I've been studying it. [00:11:32] Speaker B: Good. [00:11:33] Speaker A: This is the year I get certified. [00:11:35] Speaker B: Okay. [00:11:36] Speaker A: Anyway, that's probably. I have a tripod, actually, I have a tripod in my bag. It's a tinier one, like a clip on size. I don't have a full one in there. [00:11:45] Speaker B: And then you have a new purchase. [00:11:48] Speaker A: Um. What's that? [00:11:49] Speaker B: You wore them at the park. [00:11:53] Speaker A: Oh, I don't keep them on my bag. [00:11:56] Speaker B: No, but that is part of your obsession. [00:11:59] Speaker A: I have the new ray bands, meta, meaning Facebook. Such a weird thing. But the ray bans actually, I can say, hey, meta, and then I can say, start recording and it will actually start videoing. Shooting a video from my sunglasses. It only goes 1 minute in length. I need to figure out if I can change that because it stops after 1 minute. I also can take pictures. I can say, hey, meta, take a picture and it will take a picture from my glasses as well. [00:12:25] Speaker B: Pretty cool. [00:12:25] Speaker A: I can listen to music on it, take phone calls on them. They're wonderful. Amazing glasses. [00:12:29] Speaker B: But you wanted to record yourself because. [00:12:31] Speaker A: Well, yeah. This goes back to the drilling I have found. I found myself making more errors when I wasn't watching the ball to my paddle. That shouldn't surprise anybody, but I caught it by watching video of myself. Since then, I've made a change to my game, and I'm still videoing it. And I'm watching, and I'm watching the ball all the way to paddle and making sure it's coming off that paddle. And I'm hitting better shots. They're going where I want them. And this is, again, there's nothing surprising about it, but watching myself on video, which we should do a whole podcast on how to, how to like coach yourself or how to drill. But that's really helped. And those sunglasses are a part of that. I've always kept sunglasses in my bag. You're right about that. But I don't keep those in there. I have to charge them too frequently. So it doesn't make sense to have. [00:13:15] Speaker B: Does it pick up your sound, too? [00:13:16] Speaker A: Oh, it picks up my breathing. [00:13:18] Speaker B: Wow. [00:13:18] Speaker A: Yeah. So picks up the sound of me hitting the ball, picks up my breathing. The angle's not perfect, but when I'm hitting, like, when I'm hitting in front of me, but when I'm hitting down, you know, regular ground stroke, um, it's. Or a serve, it's really very evident. Like, I'm watching right where the ball is. But sometimes when I'm in front of myself with my hands [email protected]. And I'm like, you know, moving my hands quickly to the left or the right to block a shot, it's too close to the glasses, so it kind of gets out of you. [00:13:47] Speaker B: That's makes sense. [00:13:49] Speaker A: Yeah. That's what's in my bag, baby. And then my truck's a whole different story. I carry a whole big, huge tote full of paddles. There's probably 20 to 25 paddles in there that I buy and sell. I don't do it to make a profit, per se. I do it because I get so many beginners, and they want to know what they should use, right. So I try to buy paddles at the best price I can get them, and then I will let people demo them, and then I will knock off pricing a bit. So, actually, you know, take a little bit of hit, right? And then I sell the paddle for a little bit cheaper than it would be brand new. And so I have a whole total of those. I have a total of 200 dura balls, which are my favorite, actually, except for one thing. Everyone seems to be going away from them now, so I've had to learn how to love the selkirk, which I have. I do. I hit this. I hit the dura the other day and really still enjoy the dura, but I like that hard rock feeling. Non marshmallow paddle feels. [00:14:49] Speaker B: Sure. [00:14:51] Speaker A: I also have a tote of stuff that's spoken for. So if somebody has ordered shirts from me or paddles for me or whatever, I move them to another tote, right? And then I have a whole tote full of what I call random balls. Indoor, outdoor. The gamma photon, glow in the dark. [00:15:09] Speaker B: Right. [00:15:10] Speaker A: Franklin's osos. Who else is in the duras? There's a couple duras in there, but they're, like a different color. I don't like the green dura. Pink Franklin's, which I love, but nobody really likes that pink color. Like a magenta, strong magenta color pickleball. I think it's really easy to pick up on the floor. Most people, for some reason, don't like it outside. That's fine. I don't know. That's probably. That's enough. I have a lot of bags full of other stuff. Like have Franklin bag completely full of Franklin balls. And I have a selkirk bag completely full of, you know, like other beginner paddles that we use. [00:15:44] Speaker B: And the fact that this conversation is this long about your pickleball bags is just another clue. Yeah. Not only are you an ambassador, but you are pretty much addicted. What is the definition of addicted? [00:15:58] Speaker A: Before we go there, I keep two yardsticks in the back of my truck so I can measure the nets wherever I go. [00:16:03] Speaker B: Oh, I'm not sure. [00:16:03] Speaker A: I keep a tool for adjusting the height of the nets. [00:16:06] Speaker B: Did I put a first aid kit in your car? [00:16:08] Speaker A: I have a first aid kit that goes, it's in a bag. It's in a bag. Not. I mean, yeah, but it's separate in a bag. It's in the garage right now. I also have probably six or seven nets in my garage. [00:16:21] Speaker B: Yep. Because we do help. We do run some small tournaments. [00:16:24] Speaker A: Yeah. And go on a moment's notice and give people nets to use. [00:16:28] Speaker B: So. [00:16:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that's a way too long of a list. So I apologize, everybody. I'm looking up now. [00:16:33] Speaker B: They're thinking, is this a sleep story podcast? [00:16:36] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. That may be what they're already using it for anyway. So define addiction. Let's see what it says. Being addicted, the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance. Well, that's really helpful. Addiction is addicted. Okay, let's look up addicted. Physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects. So that's not what we have. But let me just. Let me just change it. One word. [00:17:07] Speaker B: I might debate you on that one. [00:17:09] Speaker A: I'm not taking anything. [00:17:10] Speaker B: No, but I'm not taking a substance. You go a week without pickleball and you are grumpy. [00:17:14] Speaker A: Well, let me just change a little bit. You ready? Physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance. Nothing's changed yet. And then unable to stop talking about it without incurring adverse effects. That's me. [00:17:25] Speaker B: Yes. [00:17:26] Speaker A: So I changed it from unable to stop taking it to unable to stop talking about it. But there's an informal definition which is enthusiastically devoted to a particular thing or activity. [00:17:36] Speaker B: There you go. [00:17:37] Speaker A: Check the box. [00:17:38] Speaker B: So you even dream pickleball? [00:17:40] Speaker A: I don't just dream pickleball. I intentionally think about playing a game when I lay down to go to sleep. I, in my head, picture myself on a court. I say, zero, zero, two, and the game is off. And then I fall asleep. [00:17:52] Speaker B: I know. Cause sometimes you talk in your sleep and you say the score. [00:17:59] Speaker A: Maybe. Maybe I'm. Maybe I'm doing code. Maybe 702, which is the Las Vegas area code, is code for something, baby. [00:18:07] Speaker B: I know. It's pickleball. I know you're dreaming about pickleball, which at least it's something nice for you. [00:18:14] Speaker A: Actually, as a former telecom guy, a lot of the scores are in my head. Like, 801 is Salt Lake City, 212 is the New York City area code. So that's pretty popular. I just want to yell DC or Baltimore. And no one's gonna have a clue when I say, like, 301 is Baltimore. I mentioned that one. Most of our area codes have numbers that are above one or two at the end, right? [00:18:34] Speaker B: Sure. [00:18:35] Speaker A: So that's what we hope. [00:18:36] Speaker B: Wow. Wow. Pretty strange, baby. That's pretty strange. [00:18:40] Speaker A: The other thing I want to mention is I have recently got a yobo. I think I'm pronouncing that right. Yobo. It's massage gun. [00:18:49] Speaker B: Oh. [00:18:50] Speaker A: But this is, like, the little handheld size. So. Boom. [00:18:53] Speaker B: In the bag for your pickleball bag. [00:18:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:56] Speaker B: Okay. I was gonna say we have, like, two larger ones. [00:19:00] Speaker A: Yeah, no, this is the in the bag episode, and that's. It's a new addition I forgot about to my bag. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Aw. [00:19:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:08] Speaker B: That makes sense. Especially at tournaments. [00:19:11] Speaker A: Definitely. In seven, intro and outro. I'm gonna do a metro here. Let's see what happens. Hang on the line. [00:19:19] Speaker B: Got a string around my. [00:19:28] Speaker A: So the reason I threw that in there is because I do want to have a transition to a different conversation really quickly here. [00:19:33] Speaker B: Okay, you're throwing a curve at me. [00:19:34] Speaker A: This is my second user or listener question. I should say second listener question. [00:19:40] Speaker B: Okay. [00:19:40] Speaker A: I had a listener reach out this last week and said, man, you and sky are talking really fast. [00:19:46] Speaker B: Oh, really? I think we talk slowly. [00:19:49] Speaker A: Well, I don't. I don't speak slowly in general, but I thought, really fast doesn't make sense to me. So I said, hang on. I jumped onto my. She was using Apple iTunes, whatever the heck they call it. Apple music, Apple Podcasts, whatever that stupid thing is called. Ipodcasts. Anyway, she was using that app, and so I jumped onto Apple podcasts. I pulled up sweet lobs, and I hit play on the most recent episode, which was episode two at the time. Episode three, of course, has is out now. And I was like, holy smokes. We were talking really fast. [00:20:22] Speaker B: What is it? [00:20:23] Speaker A: I looked at my app, and I was like, oh, it's set at one and a half speed. I need on mine, because I always listen to everything fast between one and a half and two x. That's how I listen. [00:20:33] Speaker B: She was listening at three, and so I said, no. [00:20:35] Speaker A: I said, hey, check your app and see if it's on a faster speed than normal. [00:20:41] Speaker B: Right? [00:20:42] Speaker A: So she clicked the little button. There's a. It said 1.5 x in the bottom left hand corner. As I click on the 1.5 x and change it to one x, she changed it to one x. [00:20:50] Speaker B: Boom. Huh? [00:20:52] Speaker A: Off to the races. [00:20:53] Speaker B: That's funny. So we're teaching people about pickleball and podcasts. [00:20:57] Speaker A: Here comes my next mid trail here. I will shorten this one a little bit. I'll let it finish, but I turn it down. So I was like, you know, there's got to be other couples out there. They're doing podcasts. Oh, bunches about pickleball. [00:21:17] Speaker B: Oh, maybe. [00:21:18] Speaker A: And then I was like, well, yeah, I listened to one called one more game by Matt and Abby Brandenburger. They're just up in Fort Wayne. Yeah, they've got, like, 60 to 70 episodes out there. [00:21:29] Speaker B: Wow. [00:21:29] Speaker A: They've started doing one called. I'm gonna get this wrong. I think it's drive. It's. It's bdo. Bang dink. Ow. Anyway, they analyze games when they're doing BDO. Yeah. Here's how this person hit. How so that person hit. I like, I watched the one with Josh Walker. Sorry, Josh. They did it. I think they did you right, brother. But. And it's that much fun to watch yourself, you know, getting analyzed. But, you know, kudos to you, bro. Anyway, Matt and Abby, great people. Yeah. So we're gonna do. [00:22:08] Speaker B: We're gonna do an episode at a tournament soon. [00:22:11] Speaker A: We are. I think we mentioned that we're gonna do, quote unquote, live streaming, and we'll turn it into a podcast episode at the greatest spectacle in pickleball. But back to the Matt and Abbey podcast and having. They're now in the 60 to 70 range of how many they've done. There's an interesting statistic about podcasts, and I want to share it with you real quick. The statistic is 90% of podcasts don't get past episode three. [00:22:38] Speaker B: Really? Wow. [00:22:40] Speaker A: And 90% of those that are left. So now we're talking about 99 out of 100 podcasts have quit after. Have quit by 20 episodes. [00:22:51] Speaker B: Huh. [00:22:53] Speaker A: So it is work, but on average, most people quit their podcast before episode eight, I guess because you have a lot of people that have hundreds of episodes. That was kind of imbalancing the three thing. But on average, most people quit before episode eight. So we've got to do four more episodes to get to eight. [00:23:11] Speaker B: Okay. [00:23:11] Speaker A: It's a big deal. [00:23:12] Speaker B: We can do it. [00:23:13] Speaker A: Here's the other thing that I heard this week, and I haven't verified it, although I kind of recall it from some podcast work we did for one of my clients, and that is this. If your podcast gets 100 listens, you're in the top 25%. [00:23:28] Speaker B: I didn't know that. [00:23:29] Speaker A: We're well over 100. [00:23:31] Speaker B: Oh, thank you, listeners. [00:23:32] Speaker A: I agree. Thank you so much, listeners. You are wonderful to us, and so just let us know how we can be wonderful to you. Okay, sky. I'm addicted. I admit it. [00:23:42] Speaker B: It's official. We looked up the definition. [00:23:44] Speaker A: I admit it. [00:23:45] Speaker B: We laid out the evidence on this podcast. I think in a court of law, I would have enough to get a ruling. [00:23:52] Speaker A: I don't think we need to go there because I would just say guilty. I mean, yeah, I would just say guilty. There's no reason to go to a court of law. Okay, so what are we gonna do next week? [00:24:04] Speaker B: Well, next week is. Well, we have a couple of ideas. I'll throw them out. Conflict of resolution with your pickleball people. [00:24:12] Speaker A: We might bring in Jessica for that one. [00:24:14] Speaker B: We have. We have some great people that would help us out with that podcast. We're also gonna record one at the. Which we just mentioned. And then we have. Man, we have a list. [00:24:26] Speaker A: We do have a list. I have it here in front of me because I thought that we might be wondering what to do next. When this call, I always want to say call because I'm using Zoom. [00:24:35] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:24:35] Speaker A: I said story last time. I said call this time when we started this podcast. So I'm just. You can hear me flipping the pages. I am flipping to where my wife's. [00:24:44] Speaker B: Lovely is at the tournament to actually talk. The theme of that would be how to run a tournament. So if you're wanting to learn how to run a tournament, that would be the one to catch. [00:24:55] Speaker A: Okay. I agree. We said we would do another one on pickleball spouse because we really duper in the pooper. Didn't really cover pickleball spouse very much. A little bit, but not, like, the full extent we want to do it. We are going to do one on how to run a tournament. We both have run tournaments. [00:25:10] Speaker B: Yes. That's what we'll probably talk about at the tournament. [00:25:13] Speaker A: That makes a ton of sense. We're gonna do one on the USAP. USA Pickleball. [00:25:18] Speaker B: Okay. [00:25:18] Speaker A: That's the governing body for pickleball today. And I say today lightly and intentionally. [00:25:26] Speaker B: Because there's some possible competition there. [00:25:29] Speaker A: I would be more than happy to replace them because I will get to that later. Yeah, they won't let me replace them, but I'd love to. Favorite gadgets, pickleball gadgets and inventions, innovations and ideas. Road to the finally 4.0. [00:25:47] Speaker B: I'd love to tell that story. It's been fun to watch you. [00:25:51] Speaker A: Cool. And then disagreements among pickleball friends. [00:25:55] Speaker B: That's what we cover. That's the conflict resolution one. [00:25:59] Speaker A: Oh, got it. And then weight loss and supplement ideas. [00:26:03] Speaker B: That's a future one, for sure. [00:26:05] Speaker A: I also want to talk about UPA. United Pickleball Association, I believe is the name. They are the ownership body of PPA and MLP, and. Yeah. So I think we got plenty of options. Let's surprise them. I like surprising him every time. [00:26:21] Speaker B: I think that's fun. [00:26:22] Speaker A: Okay. Anything you want to add or say. [00:26:24] Speaker B: Or otherwise, I just want to thank our listeners. We're having fun. We love talking about pickleball, and because of my addicted spouse over here, everywhere we go, people bring up pickleball to us. And we've made it known that we love the sport, and we're gonna continue to talk about it. [00:26:46] Speaker A: Goodbye, everybody.
